Presidential Elections 101.

The Presidency is not a Popular National Vote. It is a State Vote of Electors with National Consequences.

When you vote. You are voting for an Elector, who is pledged to vote for your choice. In many States the pledge is not binding.

I do thank you for giving me the opportunity to educate many in these forums regarding Presidential Elections in the USA.

You just highlighted the major problem with America - your 2 party system & the Electoral College. While that remains an issue, nothing is ever going to change so the possibility that another farce of a presidential election like 2016 could always occur.

Internally the USA has 51 Governments..

& that is the Number One problem the world has with the US.

Whenever any nation takes the US to task over trades deals & government subsidies, you "dishonestly" hold up your hands & declare that the "Federal" government does not do that, yet...

...Trump, your lawyers & lobbyists know that as well. So to boil it down in a nutshell, Americans are liars & dishonest at that.
