Eric and I were in Fresno

I'm so sorry

this weekend visiting relatives. Our niece and nephew there, ages 13 and 16 respectively, wanted to see the new Spiderman movie. Although neither Eric nor I had any great desire to see the movie, it was about 106 degrees in Fresno and movie theaters are air conditioned,

the highlight of Fresno social life, air conditioning

so we took the kids to see the movie.

Honestly, it was not bad. It was cute and I found myself laughing several times throughout the movie. I would recommend it to anybody who has teenage children, nieces, nephews etc. I would also highly recommend it to anybody who teaches high school. Although the movie does poke a little fun at high school teachers, it does so in a playfully gentle manner.

Seen it. It was kind of freaky.

In fact, I'm pretty sure we've seen just about everything there is to see in the greater Fresno area - the zoo, the air museum, the Fossil Discovery Center (it's worth seeing!), the Big Dog Grill (good pulled pork) etc.

I just hope you laughed in the most appropriate places ;-)

(Laughing in the wrong place is such a great way to wind up film buffs and teenagers.....)

Its been a long time since I've been near Fresno, last time was in 1968 or so, then I lived in Tulare, though for how long is another matter.

I did enjoy the tule fog though.
