Well, after a first blip this afternoon and then that my BOINC was out of work for two contacts, it's now been over an hour and still no work. Just flipped the "If no work" from No it was on to Yes and forced an update, but still the same message of evil. I am sending these reports to David, perhaps that he sees something wrong. VLAR Storm, Plenty of CPU only VLAR work available. If all or most of the (Stock) GPU apps are excluded from getting VLAR work then strangely enough they'll be times when they get no work. I suggest VLARs are sent to AMD GPUs as a first. Claggy |

I would worry more about the fact that we have just ONE channel of work left to split for any purposes. I tried to contact Eric, to no avail so far. I do not do backup projects, so if nothing comes around, the kitties shall be chilling rather soon. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I have an AMD RX470. But still most of the day I have just plain 'no work available' or the infamous 'there is work but not for the hardware of your choice, slick!' E.g. 12/03/2017 22:06:32 | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for AMD/ATI GPU |

I hesitate to comment because I might jinx myself. Haven't had to flip or Update in a couple of days now. I've been getting one for one on task retirement/replacement. Full caches for CPU and GPU. I haven't done anything to the systems. Must be good luck for me lately. . . Don't be superstitious, it's not just you :) . . It'll be alright in the end :) Stephen :) |

I haven't done anything to the systems. Must be good luck for me lately. Oh I know. I just meant that I hadn't had to flip or update in several days and thought my luck might be changing or some miracle had occurred and the administrators had figured out the problem and fixed it. Not so far it seems. I just had to update and I started getting work again. Full caches now as I type. But who knows ..... that statement might have just incurred the wrath of the Seti gods again. ;-^ Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Maybe I missed something during the 3 weeks that I was away from the project. What happened to work from GBT? GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

Maybe I missed something during the 3 weeks that I was away from the project. What happened to work from GBT? . . Apparently there is some issue relating to the supply of GBT "tapes". All we have had for a long time now is Arecibo tasks and a handful of GBT resends. Stephen ? |

I would worry more about the fact that we have just ONE channel of work left to split for any purposes. When you have been in correspondence with Matt/Jeff or Eric have you discussed the lack of Astropulse work? If so is there been any answer as to when/if there will be a steady flow of work? I was thinking about emailing one of them and asking however I did not want to do this if you have already raised the question |

. . And just to prove it I can no longer get work for my GPUs, just Arecibo VLAR tasks for my CPUs. As soon as my CPU Q's are full, "This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress" even though my GPU Q is only half full or less :( . . And the dance goes on. Stephen E^{ |

Same problem here, this is getting so frustrating :-( "SETI is probably the most important quest of our time, and it amazes me that governments and corporations are not supporting it sufficiently."- Arthur C. Clarke 2006 |

The crippled server business has finally gotten around to me. One of my machines (ugh-pc) has about half the WUs it should, the servers are sending out plenty of WUs, when it reports 2 or3 or more WUs on Update, I get 1 or 2 at most. When I am down to <150 of my normal load of 300. So I am gradually being drained. I managed to not have this problem until now... |

Maybe it is complaining that shakes it loose (the servers are embarrassed?). Just after noon EDT I got 124 followed by 66 in consecutive requests, and am sated for the nonce. |

I was thinking about emailing one of them and asking however I did not want to do this if you have already raised the question My understanding on this is that AP splits much faster, provides fewer WUs than MB, and therefore.. gets processed and returned faster.... and we've basically run out of AP almost entirely, until some brand new tapes arrive. We keep redoing older tapes that never got done with MB's newest autocorr check, so that's why those are all being redone, but AP hasn't really changed since it began. So finding tapes we haven't done with AP is few and far between. The secondary problem is that starting at some point in 2015 and basically all of 2016, something with the tapes appear to be broken, either at the recording end or the splitting end, because 99% of them are 100% blanked when it comes to AP. There was mention last year that GBT would begin being processed with AP at some point in the future, but it seems like they need to sort some other gremlins out with the supply of tapes first. A lot of VLARs in the mix at the moment, making it more difficult than usual to get GPU work. EDIT- and the ready-to-send buffer is empty as well. Grant Darwin NT |

Looks like some new datasets have made their way in for splitting. Just in time too I only have 599/600 MB tasks! SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |
