Message 1835510 - Posted: 12 Dec 2016, 5:57:59 UTC - in response to Message 1835509.

And how much would we suffer if nobody did anything to amend it???
Our great white hope is standing before us.
it is up to us to take his hand a embrace it.
Now is our time. Now is our hope.

Whether you like him or not, he is the only hope our country has.

Embrace him, or be one of the lost that had nothing to say.

Message 1835522 - Posted: 12 Dec 2016, 7:53:06 UTC - in response to Message 1835482.

True that during the campaigns, Clinton outspent Trump by a huge amount AND had the bigger money backers overall.

BUT the Clinton's net worth is no where near what Trump's is, and the cabinet Mr. Trump is appointing is worth more money than any cabinet this country has ever seen as far as I know. It is this difference that I am fearful of. It is seeming the control has shifted from the rich, and to the VERY rich... (and not just control by proxy, this situation is going to be *direct* control in many cases)

G'day Ex, long time no see.

Yes I hope that those who voted him in arn't too disappointed by the time he finishes his backtracks in his 1st term, but then again they'll probably blame someone else for their stuff up.

BTW, why is it that I can hear a number of baby boomers, along with with 1 or 2 gen X's, crying their butts off everytime I come into Politics lately?

Have the no hoping whinges got a private thread around here somewhere?

Cheers.

This is not the hope and change that Obama promised, my friend. His were empty promises. This is the real deal.

This is real this time.
I believe that and know it shall be true.

I'd recognize Guy's words anywhere ^^

Hello Guy. I certainly do hope you realize there's more groups than just Republicans and Poor people.

#We're*all*gonnaGetScrewedNow

We'll see where the dust falls though, you've won. Maybe I'll be wrong. I just hope more things go up besides the stock market and cost of living...

Yes, the Reagan revolution has been largely successful in dismantling the middle class.

Those who thought there would always be a free lunch are gonna be quite surprised when the banquet tables are folded up and put away.
Yes, the angry white folk have spoken, as has been bandied about by some who do not like it.
Those who have WORKED for a living for all of their dang lives.
And just enough of us got just fed up enough with it to just vote about it.

The journalists are correct.

We, the angry white folk, have spoken.

And it's about time that those who pay the bills have finally been heard.

So there are no angry Latino conservatives? No angry African American conservatives? Just angry white conservatives, implying it is only whites that work for a living?

Not saying that.
Please do not try to put words into my mouth.
You are being an instigator, and I am not going to succumb to your efforts.

The minority groups you speak of had their voice heard, but by and large, they are not the ones that steered this election.
And you know it.

I didn't put any words in your mouth. I quoted exactly what you said and asked for clarification. Now you're saying that those minority groups "had their voices heard" and that "they are not the ones that steered this election", are you suggesting none of them voted republican?

NO.

1. We didn't HAVE a Reagan revolution because the Authoritarian Left (Mostly Democrats) and Authoritarian Right (mostly Republicans) stood in the way. They blocked the Government spending cuts, allowing only a subset of the tax cuts to pass. Trickle-down economics (AKA Reaganomics) NEVER GOT TRIED. The Authoritarians were not about to give up the power that they had stolen from the People.

2. The middle class (the bottom 99.9% of the top 1%) has not been hurt very much. What got dismantled is the *WORKING CLASS*.

The Authoritarian elements (and their supporters) in this country are the problem, and must be purged from existence for Freedom and Liberty to once again lead to prosperity for all.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Oh, let me recant and rethink a bit.
I can view it another way. Due to the fact that the election was so close, maybe the minorities had more of a say in it than I previously was thinking...............

I truly don't give a damn about the semantics of how it came about.
I only know that this country has been given a much needed breath of fresh air, and just in time.
Another Clinton presidency would have buried us even deeper than we are now.
About time we started digging up instead of further into the muck.

This is not going to turn around overnight. WE need to give Trump the respect and time to see how he is going to handle things once he is in office. And for some years afterward. No new administration ever changed things overnight. It will take some time, and working with those currently in power that are not going to give up their reins on things easily.

I hope I have enough years left to see it play out. I see this as the 'hope and change' that Obama promised, but never delivered upon.
He was a false hope. Never in it for anybody but himself.

Now I think we are on a path to better things.

And maybe we can talk about this more in 2020, when he gets elected to his second term.
Which I shall predict here and now, that he shall.
