Anyone ...,

I've seen my stats plummet to a third of what they were over the last 3 months or so. Not sure why but a good enough excuse to upgrading some pretty old parts.

I'm currently using a i5-2500 and it looks like the best my board (Maximus IV) will take on LGA 1155 is a i7-3770, used obviously

I'm looking at upgrading my GTX 560 to a GTX 1070.

Would prefer to to stick with the Maximus IV for now although I am aware of the limitations it places on the processor upgrade.

Is there a question amongst all this? Yup, can I expect any uplift from going from a i5-2500 to a i7-3770 is the most gain gonna come from upgrading the graphics card?

ta.

The GTX 1070 will certainly produce more results than the CPU upgrade.

Finally, under 8.19, my inconclusives have started drop. :-)

Now if those Intel iGPU's and those Darwins can be improved we may finally be on the road to some success.

Cheers.

My iGPU inconclusives are down to about nothing, only had 1 since using the r3541 app.

. . Hi John

. . WOW! That wingman's rig is one very sick puppy, his team leader or a moderator should have a kindly word in his ear.

I am getting "GPU Missing" message on the v8.19 wu's, and my v8.00 wu's aren't running either. I have the latest video driver (375.95). I also am using the 7.6.22 version of BOINC.

Why won't it use my GPU?

I also have Windows 10 64bit.

Post the first 20 lines of your BOINC log to the thread for comments. Probably the reason is the latest Nvidia video driver which is causing issues with its embedded telemetry from reports I have read.

It looks like BOINC is seeing your 750 Ti card for both CUDA and OpenCL. Where is the "missing GPU" message in the log. Guess it is later than the first 20 lines. It might be that Windows10 had updated the video driver on its own to the no OpenCL version that Microsoft pushes out automatically. I don't know whether that would be picked up as the same Nvidia latest driver version. First thing to try is download the driver directly from Nvidia and re-install it. That will get back the OpenCL capability for sure. The other thing is the latest driver has embedded telemetry hidden in the driver and lots of BOINC users in other projects are commenting that is breaking BOINC. If you can back level the driver to an earlier version before the telemetry was added. I don't know whether you update drivers for specific gaming requirements or not. If you don't need the latest driver for games and just want to run BOINC, settle on a stable driver version like 372.54 or something similar.

. . Hi Barry,

. . If Windows updated your video drivers for you there is a high probability that it does not support OpenCL so SoG will not see the GPU. If that is the case you need to get the latest drivers from Nvidia and use them, and try to stop Windows updating them.

Stephen
