I'm not quite that liberal. My vote is for none of the above. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

My vote is for none of the above. What do you mean ? We have the delicious choice of: a kook a crook a crackpot a curmudgeon Remember that today's modality in voting is to hold your nose and vote for the lesser of two weasels. |

Remember that today's modality in voting is to hold your nose and vote for the lesser of two weasels. Why do you settle for that? |

The Bern is saying what needs to be said but he will not get the nomination. |

That's what I thought too, but the tides are certainly turning. He's really gaining on Hillary. I think he has a solid chance at winning the nomination and then the presidency. |

My nose is being pinched harder, and harder.I'm surprised after Citizen's United we are doing this good. Money "contributed" to a political campaign should be (at least) triple taxed. Once when earned, once when given and once when received, each at increasing tax rates. |

I do NOT like Bernie Sanders. And, maybe I am not sure just why. Call it gut instinct. I like Trump for the same reason. I feel he represents a sanity check that this nation has needed for a very long time. He kicks the status quo squarely in it's ass. And I think it is long overdue that somebody did that. We have to reset some things and turn things on their butt before this country can be what it should be again. Truthful and rightious(sp) and fair and free. I do NOT quite see Trump as the new JFK....nobody could be. I happen to still believe that this nation would be far greater in stature had a sniper in Dallas not taken him out and he had been able to serve our great nation. And I also believe that those who gained the most from his demise are still in power to this day. But I do see Bernie starting to have a lot of people in power starting to shake in their boots because he is coming for them. And the time is well overdue that somebody should. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I try to look at the US from a world view. https://rankingamerica.wordpress.com/page/3/ I see how we are doing against other countries, and where we are not doing well, and evaluate what the number 1 country in any parameter is doing. If I want to have the top cruncher in the world, I look at the statistics, and see how the top cruncher is configured. If I want the best health care, education, etc. I look at the number one position. I figure it is impossible to lead from last place. We are number 1 in obesity. We are number 1 in guns per person. We are number 1 in number of people in prison. We are far behind in other categories such as health care and education. It would seem logical to emulate the countries that are doing much better than the US in many categories, instead of saying we are the best country, but really aren't. I try to look at the US from a world view. A good post Steve, but do you think that your countrymen are up to the radical changes in attitudes, politics and business practices required to correct the problems yous have over there? Personally I can't see that ever happening going by other U.S. posters here. Cheers. |

I try to look at the US from a world view. You'd have a stroke Clyde before you could see anything close to the "common sense" that better countries have had for decades (along with a few others here). Cheers. |

So I have found out Bernie was a Independent so he's not a plant by the republican's but someone who's sick of the B/S of the big party's . So he's joined the Dem's to change in from the inside out witch is probably the only way it will be done . He's talking about changing how people vote in the primary's I believe and well it's a start but Bernie it's not the voting of the leader of a party if your not a paid up member then why should you be able to vote for the party's leader , you need to advocate changes to the actual general vote not the party room vote . 1 vote per person and get rid of the College crap that is distorting things give the real vote to the people if you really are a free country . |

Get your facts straight Clyde, I said that your outdated constitution was as useful as a piece of toilet paper. ;-) But then again, no one expects any better from you anyway. :-) Cheers. |

I try to look at the US from a world view. Stop that! Logic has nothing to do with the reality-show we're watchin'! ;) |

Wiggo... It's 11 days since I last posted "more 'calling fellow posters inferior' nonsense from CLYDE." - I'm probably not paying close enough attention. Plus c'est la même chose. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

Because someone believes differently to you does not make them inferior to you or in fact automatically wrong. Because someone is left/right/centre does not make them automatically wrong In your opinion they may be wrong but then in their opinion so may you be. It may of course be possible that you are both wrong. In the UK many many people would admit to being socialist and proud of it. So can we stop attaching demeaning names to points of view. |

Because someone believes differently to you does not make them inferior to you or in fact automatically wrong. In the UK we tend to refer to "extremists" or "far left" and "far right" none of our main stream political parties fit in to the "extremest" category. And from what we foreigners see none of you political candidates are anywhere near "far left or far right" You of course may see things differently I know one poster told me that these forums were the home to groups dedicated to the overthrow of the American political system. However I also believe no one on these forum has exhibited extremist views. |
