BTW Tim,

I made our new avatar with Photoshop.
Ziggy showed me how and Bing! There it was.
It wasn't hard at all.

I feel it is a way I can contribute to our community in a positive manner.

I volunteer in my home community also, so If I can help with Avatars
and some graphics. I get a lot of enjoyment out of and it keeps my skills
from being dusty!

The avatars you create have quite a distinctive style that are pleasing to the eye and have great composition but I think you have a great eye for the humerous in images in general..

I just love this guy:

Well for the graphic artists in our community, I have a request.

:)

So let me be blunt, the BOINC Manager needs a graphic artists touch. Maybe nifty icons for adding projects, removing projects, updating projects, and numerious other things that the BOINC Manager does.

The present stuff was taken from a few odds and ends places including the old BOINC gui, but it could really use an update with some more visual appeal.

Anybody want to give it a go?

I'm always amazed at what people with artistic talent can do, well because it isn't one of my talents.

:)

Well I was thinking about a more Windows XP'ish look like with what you see when you open up "My Computer."

You can install the latest alpha release to see what we have now.

Maybe have different icons for different color depths.

As a resource for ideas or themes I like DeviantART.. Some totally stunning work ...

Their icon directory is at: Browse DeviantART Icons

I like the GANT set but thats probably too dark..

Thanks for the invite, although I'm kinda partial to Outlook.

I've gone ahead and signed up though, I'll check it out.
