At last! A cat collar that translates meows into human speech Grace would just pull the collar off of Her neck, and yeah I know what She wants, so it's a waste of money to Me too. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Maybe Mark can teach his cats how to use the computer(s) and become famous... What has four paws, a pair of Rottweilers in tow, attention deficit disorder and 150,000 followers on Instagram? Manny, of course. Manny the cat. Manny the cat is a selfie extraordinaire |

Thanks to a kind and creative man in South Korea, you can watch stray cats eating and sleeping on a live stream. (Here in the states we have to watch the videos on YouTube, though) It's almost like the smartphone game, Neko Atsume, but in real life. The cats eat fish and everything! |

Watch lions play with one of the world's largest cat toys Catnip mice and little cardboard scratchers don't cut it when your cats weigh 350 pounds. The Oregon Zoo invented a more robust toy for its big kitties. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8X2G58OP5w The Leaping Lion Toy is crafted from knotted butcher paper long enough to keep a safe distance between the keeper and the playful lions in their enclosure. Sometimes extra cardboard cutouts are attached at the end to give the lions something to catch and carry back down. The toy inspires some impressive acrobatics, highlighted in slow-motion video sequences released by the zoo earlier this week. |

Watch lions play with one of the world's largest cat toys OMG...Tigger II would jump like that if a toy was dangled for her. That is so amazing seeing them in slow motion. The muscles of a cat are so sleek and strong. Cats in motion are a wonderful thing. Meowsmooth. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

One of my cats has gone missing. Three of my neighbors have been trapping cats (we have a large feral population), but they say they haven't trapped Gus. My neighborhood is not heavily traveled, so I doubt he was hit by a car. Also, I probably would have been one of the first to find his body, but there is a small possibility someone else might have and disposed of it. Animal control doesn't have him. I have no idea what might have happened. Please keep your thoughts positive and, if you're a praying person, please pray for Gus - that he's safe and will return home. He is a neutered male and has never roamed far from home. ~Sue~ |

Not trying to garner sympathy by any means, but now I've noticed a second cat has gone missing. This one is in tact (i.e. not neutered) and a little sickly. Perhaps he has gone off somewhere to die. I hate that they do that. I realize it's thousands of years of instinct, but it's painful to us humans when a cat disappears never to return and we have no idea what has happened to it. I know it's my own fault for letting them go outside, but when you have so many cats (too many cats - yes, I can admit that), it's hard to keep them inside. Not impossible. I just don't try hard enough, I guess. Most of my dilemma stems from trying to "rescue" feral kittens. I'm using that good thing to justify my actions to myself, and maybe to you, too. Good intentions. Some good news to end with - one of my more difficult cats, Teenie, was trapped by one of my neighbors and handed over to Animal Control. I've been wanting to get him neutered forever. He's not very friendly in spite of having been with me since he was a kitten. He has been in several fights and I'm relatively sure that he has killed a couple of his opponents. Whenever I've tried to get him into a carrier he has reacted violently resulting in my being scratched and bitten. I have a good relationship with the Animal Control people, so they contacted me when they picked Teenie up from my neighbor. I told them he was mine but that he was neither neutered nor vaccinated, so we arranged to get him to the vet to be neutered as a "feral" at a reduced fee, which I would pay. So Teenie is now neutered and vaccinated! Yay. Thank you all for your kindness re. Gus. You are, and it is, appreciated. ~Sue~ |

Not trying to garner sympathy by any means, but now I've noticed a second Oh, not good news, True, animals do like to "go hiding" when ill. Could it possibly be that your neighbor is trapping any "stray" cat and turning them over to animal control without notifying you (or hopefully not doing anything worse to them)? |

Sorry to hear about Suzie's kitty woes. But, bound to happen trying to shepherd a flock of outdoor kitties. At least you are trying to help them, Suzie. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Not trying to garner sympathy by any means, but now I've noticed a second I have a great relationship with Animal Control. They always contact me whenever they've picked up a cat in the area. Maybe we have a budding, young serial killer in the neighborhood. Yes, I've thought about that. :-( I've noticed a couple of my intact males are gone, too. Perhaps there is a female in heat not too far away and they've all gone to visit her. But that wouldn't account for Gus. He's been neutered. Do some neutered cats still react to females in heat? ~Sue~ |
