That's nothing, the area had a 5.0 that was about 2.5 miles from here, this quake snapped North to South, the 5.0 rolled East to West.

I have an Earthquake resistant County approved foundation system under My mobile home, it's secured into concrete and into the sorry excuse for soil here that's known as caliche, caliche when dry acts almost like concrete.

Thankfully the place is paid off, I just have a $102.65 property tax payment in April, after that I'm free of property taxes until December.

I was told that people have to get caliche insurance before they build a house because if they start digging and find caliche its bad because then they have to hire these enormous pounders to come and pound on the caliche layer to break it up and it might take days to get thru it and the pounders are a hundred dollars an hour or something. And that is all I know about caliche (and the first time I've seen it spelled). Is any of that right?

The only insurance I've ever had on a house, was home owners insurance, never heard of caliche insurance. Caliche is the soil here, it's right on the surface, it's a mixture of sand and calcium carbonate.

Cliche can kill plants, by drowning the plants, like grass, you'd have to dig thru the caliche to get below the caliche so the excess water will drain away.

Good evening everyone. Glad that unexpected Outrage ended. I've also been off line trying to create a Hackintosh out of Prometheus - GTX-750 TI SC system. (See Number Crunching.) Anyway, hit a snag, so I'm typing this on Exeter - GTX-760 system, for now.

Oh well, that shows what I know about caliche, I didn't know any better. I suppose these other leeches aren't any good either.
