Message 1743362 - Posted: 19 Nov 2015, 17:12:55 UTC - in response to Message 1743337.

There may well be another fly in the ointment. It was reported earlier today, that ISIS or whatever they want to call themselves (Raving Loons is good, with apologies to the late 'Lord' Sutch), 'executed' a Chinese national. For their part, the Chinese government have said little, if anything. It seems to me, that these maniacs have pretty well declared war on just about the whole world!

They have their own issues as well

This whole thing stinks so much. I'd even be OK with sanctioning some surgical assassinations. I know the US has officially banned political assassination as a tool but in this case I think some may be called for. Where's 007 when we need him

I don't want to see armed soldiers on the streets of my country, and curtailed freedom, but neither do I want me and mine blown up either.

If the UK does send in troops, the PM and Parliament know full well that some will not come home alive, that is what wars mean, and therefore not decisions to be taken lightly. Those are the responsibilities that you undertake when you stand for, and and are elected to, high office.

Agree, however, WHAT about after they return home?

Homeless ex-soldier dies

It takes a footballer to state what others should have been saying...

“It seems incredible to me that we are turning our backs on our troops who have taken the Queen’s shilling, sworn the oath of allegiance and offered up their lives to keep us safe and yet in return we do nothing to ensure that they have a roof over their heads and food in their bellies for their remaining years.”

Glad you stopped by, man!

I have mixed feelings about this.........
How do you sort the few radicals from the preponderance of muslims who are NOT radicalized and kill only those who are?
Sad state of affairs. And getting worse.
My inner need for justice says nuke 'em to glass.
My other side wonders how are we going to do this without undue harm to the innocents?

Indeed ...
http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2015/11/isil-west-clash-savageries-151119080800886.html

Sigh...
Hopefully that article is not an opinion in general in the muslim world:(
Once again, most Western governments are making use of the heart-wrenching scenes of loss and sorrow to serve this misguided war, which benefits only its military contracts and industries.

Most observers lament the devaluation of Arab and Muslim lives, or the life of "the other". What I see is a total devaluation of all human lives, including the bloodshed of innocents in Paris, to serve the purposes of Western governments.

Does she imply that Western governments has some kind of secret agenda against muslims?
There is no such agenda.
However a small minority of the muslims want to kill "infidels" at all cost.
That is not acceptable. Not in the muslim world nor in the rest of the world!

I read recently that written arabic is very hard to comprehend, even for arabs. The Quran in particular.
You need scolars to get the right interpretation.
Much of the problems in the muslim world is probably related to "scolars" that got the translation wrong.

Well there is one Western government that shows that in its actions and many other Western governments support it, they even created it.

I believe all these religious governments descend for the God of Abraham and he had a tablet that allegedly said that you shall not murder. Seems like the scholars don't understand simple things, or they are good at creating functional exceptions to immutable rules. Or is that the saying the devil is in the details?

The suicide-vest-clad woman who killed herself during Wednesday's raid in Saint-Denis has been identified by official sources in France as Hasna Ait Boulahcen.

Yes, in the Ten Commandments, the 'Old Testament' says:

Exodus 20:13 (KJV) wrote:
Thou shalt not kill.

Yet, it also says this:

1 Samuel 15:2-3 (KJV) wrote:
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Kind of contradictory, is it not?

It is one of the reasons I am not very fond of 'religious' belief systems that rely on 'holy scriptures'. Its too easy for people to rewrite them to suit their own purposes.

I agree, we don't want to start down that slippery slope of using the old testament of the Bible as a guide for future action. There is no politically correct course of action available to the western powers. So, the right way to go is that which generates the least collateral damage on both sides.

Agreed Bob, the Russians went and found some fuel trucks that ISIS was using to transport oil illegally and bombed the trucks to flaming scrap, sounds like a good sacrifice to the old Egyptian God Isis, whammo.

Yes, the devil is in the details. Or perhaps that should be the devil fills in the details.

We don't have the ability to go into every mosque over there and figure out who the 0.01% bad guys are to take them out. (If we identify them we can take them out.) The governments over there are incapable of putting men in every mosque to do that either, even if they wanted to. Very frustrating but those are the facts.

We can't run an operation with a 99.99% innocent kill rate either. Our only course of action today is to let ISIL form a government and wrap itself with a border. Once that is established then conventional military action can be brought to bear as 100% of those inside the border can be assumed to be enemy as was the case in WWII.

As long as we kill innocents we are the invading Christian crusaders giving ISIL a huge propaganda tool to recruit 5 jihadists to replace every 1 we neutralize. And they are breeding faster than we are.

The News(CNN and I think France24) says ISIS/ISIL or whatever they're called, is losing ground, so far 25% of its conquered territory, the Kurds are giving ISIS/ISIL a real licking.

We certainly can't Gary as if we do then we'd bring ourselves down their animal level.

Agree. But...

ISIS, Al Qaeda, et al, will not be defeated until:

The North African, Near East, Mid-East, Sub-Sahara Muslim Countries. Unite against them, and allow the only effective International Military Force, to unleash its power.

Unfortunately. The Commander-in-Chief of this power. Is living in a 'La La Land'.

Will the present, and future Rape Victims, Crucified Victims, Beheading Victims, Burning to Death Victims, Murdered Victims in Beirut, Paris, Future Cities, Civilian Airlines, et al. Forgive the American people for electing, and reelecting this Uncaring and Deranged Ideologue?

Will the present, and future victims, forgive Western Europe for cheering his election?

Sorry but the US Army is busy recuperating from Iraq and Afghanistan, go find someone else, only US special forces and the US Navy are usable right now.

President Obama is the POTUS and CIC of the entire US Military, show some respect, the US will not do any endless wars.

G.W. Bush started the 2nd Iraq War and the war in Afghanistan, Darth Cheney and G.W. Bush needs to be extradited for War Crimes according to some.
