It seems the Dow Futures are showing us what a Trump Administration will do to our savings and ability to retire ... Will it be more than Black Tuesday 1929?

I think my broker is a Republican, but we don't discuss politics. There will be winners on the stock market in spite of or because of a Trump victory.

Yep. If a stock tanks, and you sold short... You win big.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Per the NYTimes...
http://www.nytimes.com/elections/forecast/president

Trump has a 95% chance of winning right now.

All hail our orange-haired, fake-tanned, fascist-dictator overlord.

And Don't blame me. Wife and I voted Johnson.

I've been out of the market since 9/15, too much Fed monkery. That will hopefully stop, plan is to buy low again. Cap gains tax increase is dead.

General Comment: I gotta give Obama credit, he was right. Looks like tonight 'middle America' has 'clung to their Bibles, their Guns, and their God.......":D

While I am horrified, it is truely entertaining to see the hand wringing and gnashing of teeth by the political pundants on PBS.

A lot of them came from rural areas who don't like big city people, and Trump appealed to their sensibilities.

Going back to Bob's original post on this thread that "it would be different" to have Trump as President, I agree. I think it's going to be a very interesting four years ahead.

A number of them, sure. But also you have the members of the working class that have been screwed by every administration at least from LBJ to the present, with the possible exception of Reagan's first term...

Now, he is probably not gonna do a d^^m thing to help them, in fact almost certainly... but he DID campaign on the topic.

Globalism has given MANY in the USA the shaft. Trump is an outsider, saying he will 'fix it'. MAGA. Yeah, right.

You are correct. It IS going to be 'interesting', and not in a good way either.

No. No no no no no no.
Not this again.
We covered this after Brexit.

When they bet wrong, markets get pummeled.
It's really, really simple.

Trump wins.

Reports are that Clinton has called him and conceded.

Presidential election was a joke to me. My opinion was that both of the main candidates were terrible in their own ways. I am in a heavily partisan state anyway, so the choice I made wouldn't make much of a difference in the results. At least it's over now. Can only hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
