That's the first I've heard of this challenge... Looks like it's been going on now for 2 days.. |

Looks like the splitters had a bit of an issue for a couple of hours there- no work produced. But the ready-to-send buffer didn't hit empty, and is presently making it's way back up to full again. Grant Darwin NT |

Interesting to know. Are the results still occupying the database or have they been cleared? |

The alleged challenge doesn't seem to affect my flow of WU's (maybe time to change my account name to WuWu..... ":D). When I switch profiles to MB only my caches promptly fill to 200 on each machine. The Team I joined when I started SETI is kind of a disappointment to me. No camaraderie, welcome to the team, or communication of any kind.(WTF??? TEAM???) My current personal team challenge is the pass the total credits leader of SETI in Colorado. I calculate that will occur in late July. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

OO! An AP tape just showed up. Creation rate is still 0/sec, but.. I shall mash the ever-living crap out of the update button just in case! Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

The record for results "being processed" is much higher, at 10.77 million. That was a cause for panic, because the tasks didn't really exist - they occupied space in the database, but the majority of them were 'ghosts' that would never be returned. That event was quite some time ago - 4 November 2012 - and it's long since passed into history. The figure you see on the server status page (just over 4 million when you commented on it) are the number in the database with that status, so the ghosts from that event have been exorcised. We did actually crunch them in the end, so the results will be in the science database - but that's a different question. |

Yeah, I kinda gave up on the whole team concept. 18 months since I joined KWSN and I still have never been able to get validated to their website, despite numerous emails and other requests. Tight little bunch, though they seem happy to have my credits? Dunno about the Colorado bit (I think I'm just up the road from you) but perhaps I'm past the learning curve a team would have helped with at this point ... So far I haven't noticed any difficulties keep the caches on all three boxes full with MB. |

+1 on the learning curve help. My SETI knowledge is self extracted by reading the threads or by asking questions in the threads. I think the SIC founder lost interest in SETI as his RAC is below .09 oh well, his loss. And yes I think were are local to each other. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

I see the dreaded "no tasks available" is back in town, despite 340K tasks available on the SSP. P. EDIT: A little while later, it gave up 28 tasks. Reluctantly it seems ;-) |

I see the dreaded "no tasks available" is back in town, despite 340K tasks available on the SSP. Remember, no matter how many "Results Ready to Send" the SSP shows, there are only 200(?) in the feeder at any given time, and the refill cycle is every 5 seconds or so. If a request from your host comes up empty, BOINC manager will try again beginning 5 minutes later, and keep trying until it gets some.... You would think, after 15 yrs here, I would have known that. Problem is, with all the issues over the last 6 months or so, I think I expect it to fail now.. Oh Ye of little faith ;-) P. |

I think we are about to go from a Shorty Storm to a VLAR Storm. All I'm getting for CPU tasks are VLARs. A VLAR Storm is Bad for GPUs because VLARs are not sent to GPUs which means if the Feeder is Full of VLARs when you ask for GPU tasks...you get Nothing. All you get is a confusing reply about not having any work when you know there is work. Well, there is work, it just can't be sent to your GPU. |

My Machines are still getting GPU tasks. I can also confirm that I have received a full cache of GPU work |

OK, I understand that, but if you request work for both cpu & gpu, I would have expected to get cpu wu's if there were no gpu wu's available, no? P. |
