We missed it.

Only $4 million on eBay
EPA has sold it to Seattle Community College for $5,000. Looks like a bit of a mark up, but it does have 45,000 gallons of diesel that's included.
That could have been a fun yacht conversion. Included all sorts of goodies like side scan sonar. Let's go treasure hunting.

Having passed the enlistment physical, Jon was asked by the doctor, "Why do you want to join the Navy, son?"
"My father said it'd be a good idea, Sir."
"Oh? And what does your father do?"
"He's in the Army, Sir."

Navy Jokes.

Does anybody know where to get hold of anchor adhesive? You know, things like that which you smear on the anchor so that it grips better.

And one of those cream that you put on the keel with so that it slips better in the water, well when racing, named keel hauler.
Hydrofoil Cruiser..

Is that the BOINC logo on the flag?

Black Jack? Hope not.

Pirates? Can Micromanage$oft be far behind?

I meant of course Jolly Roger.

Q-Ship, from WWI, they attacked U-Boats by acting and looking like a humble freighter, when the sub was close and on the surface, the Q-Ship would attack the Sub, with the Q-Ships camouflaged deck guns.

I think I would prefer a slightly dryer ride. It's a very impressive boat none the less.

That's a beauty as well.
There are still active sailing ships in many navies.
My father served on this ship and I and my sister have been aboard.

With the decommissioning of the USS Simpson(?) earlier this week in Florida, the USS Constitution is the only US warship currently in commission to have sunk an enemy vessel (or so the news item said).

I like this:)

Commander Casey Roskelly.
"I love being out at sea," he said. "You get into the rhythm, the routine. There's just something peaceful, you know, going up on the bridge wing at 2 o'clock in the morning, and it's your own planetarium. You can just see forever. The stars are just everywhere, and then watching the sunrise and sunset. There's peace. ... It's a time for self-reflection."

Often, on the boats I rode, we would surface late at night, and run in on the surface before entering port. If I had the evening watch (18-24), I would stay up until we surfaced, and after the bridge was rigged, join the line to visit the bridge. Fresh air, the night sky (unless it was raining), maybe see the lights from the port we were approaching. Yes, I know what Cdr. Roskelly is talking about.

Sometimes I used to go to my sailing boat Ana just for relaxing.
Lying in it and just listening to the water sound:)

BTW.
A little anekdot.
Next to my boat there was a fellow who forgot something.
I lent my bicycle to him and when he came back he gave me the novel "Das Boot":)
No pun intent he said:)
