Had a half way informative day at the Kane/DuPage library institute today. First, took too long in the shower and got out of the house really late. (BTW, I left my list of what sessions I wanted to attend on my desk yesterday.) McDonald's drive up line was really long. Had to get gas. Stopped at another Mc's. Arrived to find the parking lot already beyond its capacity (no surprise). Had to walk through most of the length of the building to get to the library to check in. Woman at the checkin desk insisted I sign in before taking my name sticker. She gave me a copy of the session list (but not the descriptions) and I picked one. Might have been interesting if I'd been there on time, but I didn't learn much as it was. Went to the next one, which was conducted by a couple of my coworkers, showing how to use a green screen for student video presentations. (I have refrained from poking my nose into that room since it stopped being my job.) I think I wasn't the only person disappointed by their focus on how students use it for their work rather than the technical details. Then I went to one about 3D printers. This was fairly informative. I had avoided learning about them only because I already have too many things on my plate. Now I know something about them. After lunch, I went to "iRead with iPad." I was expecting to learn how to use an iPad's ebook program. Instead, I got a rerun of the same women's session from two years ago railing about how people don't comprehend material as well from a screen as they do from a paper page. At least they have admitted defeat and changed their focus to methods of increasing comprehension instead of just campaigning against ereaders altogether. After that, I went to see my stock broker, in a nearby town. Prudential sent me a letter asking me to transfer my shares to my personal account instead of keeping it with Computershare, the manager they forced everyone to go with when they first issued stock. Came home, then decided to go to the store. Won't bore you with the rest. Getting to be bedtime. Ping! My ankles and legs got stiff from a bit too much walking today, so I had to take 2 pills so I could walk again, just from shopping for food(Vons and Stater Bros), going to the bank(twice), going to a lender, getting gas for the car(at $2.869 a gallon), surgery from 2002 is the root cause of this stiffness and of course OA spread from My shoulders to all My leg joints and made My weight go up, sometimes I wish I had an ECV like at Disneyland, but I don't have a dry or safe place to store it or a way to transport it. Just building a replacement for this PC is a bit daunting, this used to be easy, now I've gotten this far, I've got a lot of screws to reattach and more to detach in this, it's no wonder the case was redesigned from the 9000B to the GT1, tons of screws... Yes I missed one screw, not surprising really, the tray is able to be reversed and will slide out without any screws in place and I can sweat a lot when doing even a little bit, I'd show another pic, one of the back, but My camera is awaiting a new camera cable, the old cable is almost useless, since there is a break near one end. System is looking good Vic. :-) Thanks TL, the psu is 1500w, but then it's to power 3 GTX580 cards and a GTX570, it's just getting Myself up and doing the work, I've got all the parts, the motherboard is an EVGA X79 Classified. It should be quite the PC. Plus I've got a 1/3hp 2 speed swamp cooler motor on the way here(as well as a can of eggs and a Samsung CableCard box), which the manager said the motor could be installed by one of the 2 maintenance guys here, at least in almost 2 weeks, I'm hoping one of them will do the work, but if the cost is more than $23.00 I'm out of luck this month, I have to wait for some new checks from the bank to be delivered to My mail box, so I'll see. The cooler even on low cool and with no water right now would make all the difference in doing more work, since I can over heat very easy and back strain gets in there too, but that's the curse of being tall and heavy. I do have this earlier pic that shows the new build and the HAF-X with it's systems, which is over half done, it has a 650w video card psu inside the HAF-X case(modded with a hammer and pliers to mount the psu).
