I'm getting excited. In August I pre-ordered Halo The master Chief collection for my Xbox one. It's all the original 4 Halo games remastered for the Xbox One. It's been a long wait and I'll probably lose a few pounds from the workout my thumbs are going to get tomorrow.

Well done Monday - I'm sort of stalled around 90.5kg +/-0.1kg....
Must be the season, that's right, I'll blame it on the weather as I can't get out and do as much exercise as I was a couple of months ago

It was hard but doable to lose 5to6kg but I just seemed to hit a wall at 90kg, it took a big effort to grt to 89.

Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In: 171.0 lbs

Ok, this one is not fair. I was more good than I was bad this past week, and I was ESPECIALLY good when Eric was out of state from Sunday through Wednesday. I didn't eat any dessert for almost four straight days this week. Ok... I'll admit that when Eric returned Wednesday night I had a homemade raspberry almond cream cake waiting for him and I resumed eating dessert, but I swear I didn't eat that much of it.

There is no freaking way that I gained nearly three pounds during a week that I was relatively good. I am blaming this one on salt, as I made us mussels in a low fat (but salty) wine broth for dinner Saturday night and a low fat (but salty) vegetable soup for dinner last night.

Somebody please assure me that it is IMPOSSIBLE to gain nearly three real pounds in a week in which one was a relatively good raccoon!!!

Angela you are saved! LSM informs me that fluid build-up is a reason for
your weight gain. Marie also suggests that you cut down on salt, and up
your fruit and green vegetable intake. Up here in the land of ice and Moose
Head Beer, people like to build saunas for their families.
Have a nice day.

O dear poor Angela I feel your pain but I think it's possible for our weight to vary by a couple of pounds just during the day. That's why I try to do my weigh ins first thing every Monday morning for consistentency. I can be 2 pounds heavier Monday night. But unfortunatelt I think that calorie intake has to be reduced by half to achieve any real loss.ie a pound or two a week. Hang in there friend.

When you weigh in, three things can work against you.

1. If you over eat, you need to eat around 3500 calories per pound of weight you gain, For a normal person, this amount to almost doubling your intake for an entire week.

2. If you are losing weight, high salt intake will cause water to temporary replace the fat you have lost with water. Water weights about 8.3 pounds per gallon so about 1/3 gallon of water could account for 3 pounds of weigh. My diet is pretty free of salty foods so when I indulge in salt, I find in about day my body decides to get rid of the salt and water resulting more visits to the bathroom.

3. Spring balance scales can be off several pounds depending on how you step on them and how they sit on the floor. I think they are almost useless for dieting and the 30 dollars or so that you spend on them is a waste of money. After fighting with them for years, I purchased a medical grade beam balance but any medical grade scale is a good investment. One warning about battery power scales. Like fire alarms, you should replace the batteries before they are low in order to ensure an accurate reading.
