Let us not pick over the heritage that John has left us. For now Rockies remains open in memory of the service John has provided to us. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Lynn, two shots, please. Thank you. The grey sailor walks slowly back to the room that holds Mike Callaghan's fireplace. It stands quiet, three logs on the grate, but cold, unlit. Six paces from the hearth, a white line is painted on the floor, and a square table stands against the wall near it, holding a wooden cigar box. The old sailor places his two shot glasses on the table, deposits several $1 coins in the cigar box, dons his Chaplain's Cap and steps up to the line. "We mourn the passing of our Friend and Comrade John Clark, and his beloved wife Sheila. John was a vital part of this house, and the Seti@Home community. "Our friend John has gone from us. No more in this life will we see his smiling face, hear his laugh, share a drink and a story. There is an empty place where he once stood. But having touched our lives, a part of him will always remain with us, in our hearts, and in our memories. And when our time comes, we will rejoin him, as he has certainly been reunited with his beloved Sheila, and all their four-footed friends, in that place which knows no sorrow or pain, no sickness or infirmity. "Bon Voyage, Sir John Clark, until we meet again." (Downs first shot, hurls empty glass into the fireplace, where it shatters with a satisfying crash). "And to Shiela his wife, who shared his life, and shared him with us." (Downs second shot, and sends it after the first. When it shatters, the logs on the grate ignite into a roaring blaze.) I think Lynn and Rob are right, the name of the thread will and should continue. But we will need someone to keep an eye on it and renew it every 500 posts or so. Chris, as you know I like the 500 or so post count. This should be an exception. We are all in a state of shock and need let things settle. When the time is right, I would like to see every Friend of John and Rocky's Café supporter get a chance to host it. This thread was started in Memory of Dogbytes and his four legged friends waiting on the Rainbow Bridge. Coriander, Papa came home sooner then we wanted him to. Pluto will always be a planet to me. It is never easy to lose a friend. I pray that John when peacefully, in no pain, and may he watch over his family and friends from the heavens. His posts, and his fun loving spirit will be missed very, very much. I know he is at peace now, and can continue his afterlife with the love of his life and his furballs that have moved over the rainbow before him. RIP John. See you on the other side one day my friend. |

I try not to drink these days but I am so saddened by the loss of my friend and team mate of 8 years that I will get a decent bottle of 12 year old Scotch and drink to Johns memory and attempt to ease my heartfelt sorrow. I would also like to suggest that the most fitting person to care for Rocky's Cafe is John's (and my) long time friend Mike. |

I have no problem with Mike taking first shift. I would like to see a rotation of The John and Rocky's Café tho. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |
