Look at the postive side. It can't fall below 0. You might want to consider going the keg route....LOL. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Look at the postive side. It can't fall below 0. Might have been when CreditNew was still a baby. Actually, it's still behaving rather like a little brat. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Look at the postive side. It can't fall below 0. Sorry Out (buying more beer) but CreditNew is more like creature of the deep, my RAC sank a little more... and all my GPU´s usage mark 95~99% (2WU at a time), can´t do nothing more unless I OC them, something not safe without AC. |

Well according to my app details, processing rate is down 20% so fewer units processed in the same amount of time. Coincidentally credits for each work unit is down as well. So far no V7 WU has broken 85 credits for me where I routinely broke 120 with V6. Combine the two and in the words of the 11th Doctor, Geronimo! Before V7 my old P4 was holding a strong 2500 RAC with V7 I should easily be able to get it under 1000. |

Well according to my app details, processing rate is down 20% so fewer units processed in the same amount of time. Coincidentally credits for each work unit is down as well. If the credit mechanism worked as it should, the amount of credit per WU should actually increase with the new applications in order to maintain the same amount of credit per hour. So ideally each WU while taking longer to process would also give more credit, balancing out the longer crunch times. Unfortunately that isn't the cae, at least not yet. Grant Darwin NT |

RAC 115,000 on may 29, 2013; this morning 84,000 on june 5, 2013 and still falling... still falling this morning, RAC 82,000. hey we want our RAC back the way it was please, we are not paid and it is little to ask. our code is optimized by volunteers who are motivated by getting a higher RAC, if it wasn't for them the project would be achieving 1/8 the throughput. why squash innovation, let us reap our rewards. or you should we all just get a one gold star a day regardless of our abilities!!?? |

+1 you are 100% sure RottenMutt. Mine RAC Before V7 +/- 450K now 320K and not just that the daily production os my hosts was in the range of 500K/day an by yesterday stats downs to 138,540!!! and all my hosts still crunching 27/4. Before a single one of my hosts have RAC of 120K. Everybody is talking wait a week to fix, the week pass and nothing changes, the daily production still falling! Is not just about the credits, there are other problems like receiving VLARs to crunch on the GPU´s that causes serius video lag problems and nobody is doing nothing to fix. Something must be leave very clear, we can´t blame the Lunatics Team for the RAC falling, they all do their best, and give us a top class installer and the optimized builds, the problem is with who knows the Creditnew incapacioty to handle the changes and don´t make anything to be prepared to make the changes more transparent. And of course who knows the incapacity of the GPUs (mainly the Nvidias) to handle the Vlars and insist to send those WU to our GPUs, something that was avoid in the past due the large numbers of troubles. So why insist in that allready fixed error? Anyway I will mantain crunching to the last beer..... but my beer stock and pacience are not infinite! |

Well even though the credits have plummeted my 2 recently upgraded rigs are still climbing the RAC ladder with my Q6600 now up to 72nd and my 2500K up to 94th (78th & 104th prior to change) so it isn't all that bad from my POV. I hope you waved as you went by -- without GPUs my big Linux rig is plummeting down past 200. |

The situation is NOT going to change in a week. My computer, because it crashed and had Win7 re-installed, got so much pre-V7 optimised tasks that it is only today that it has started d/loading tasks for the optimised cpu app. It hasn't started crunching these yet as can be seen by the APR for that app. SETI@home v7 (anonymous platform, CPU) Number of tasks completed 0 Max tasks per day 33 Number of tasks today 13 Consecutive valid tasks 0 Average turnaround time 0.00 days It will be several days yet before it reaches the quorum and decides to use the APR figure for the calculations. Which could lead to a shortage of work if the servers crash or something similar. Because the estimates mean that the BOINC manager thinks I have a full cache of CPU work when in reality I have about enough for 16 hours. Observation. Has the default limit for CPU tasks been lowered? |

Has the default limit for CPU tasks been lowered? Server side limits are still 100 per CPU/GPU. Grant Darwin NT |

Has the default limit for CPU tasks been lowered? Then I do not understand the "Max tasks per day 33" line. The computer hasn't even completed 1 of these tasks yet, so it cannot have had its MAX lowered because of problems. |

+1 you are 100% sure RottenMutt. Tasks 10% bigger are taking 40% longer to do both with stock v7 and Lunatics v7 on Cuda 5. Is there a hint why? SETI web site says my main computer went from average calculation of 95 to 58, 3 tasks for one overclocked Nvidia 650. |

Look at the postive side. It can't fall below 0. I was? I can only remember my post count going down, and that was more of a distraught to me than my RAC going down. I see my pendings are shooting up as well, probably a case of 1+1. :-) Edit: I see in emails that Richard H. reported such a case in August 2011. |
