I just saw the American Consulate in Milano with rejoicing people. Good work.

Good morning win #239. Today I have to drill 28 holes in masonry (pilot hole then full diameter) and saw a lot of timber. Not to mention messing with dust sheets and vacuuming the brick dust and sawdust. I'm putting bookshelves on an entire wall to hold my sci-fi collection.

Hmm. Wouldn't it be easier to buy self-assembly free standing bookcases?

Easier, yes. But the sizes available don't tile the whole wall. Also I have some in another room and they are bending under the weight of books. That's why I'm attaching these to a brick wall, using Element 32 components - I found a source that's much cheaper than the usual DIY places too. With Element 32 spaced 20 inches you can use cheap 15mm MDF shelves and they will hold boxes of heavy iron tools without bending. So the overall cost is lower too.

The dawn came around like a train.
I had to give up, with an aching brain.
I sent the writing off by Email,
then crawled ab, just like a snail.

Looks like another coming today
So, I will do some writing, on my way.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues
