installed the lunatic but still cant find the program data folder with that file in it.. No, it's not hidden, you only have ro reinstate a # of settings, which are used in any Win Versions Explorer, by DEFAULT. System files are hidden, extensions are not shown, but you can change all of it. It's under Options and MAP-Options. BOINC uses (WIN7) X:\ProgramData, (in the 'list', just below X:\Program Files. That's also the BOINC manager program). In ProgramData you'll find the BOINC map and the projects Map, where you'll find your attached projects. If you want to install on a different drive or partition, copy the BOINC/projects/* to the new location. See if you still have a copy of your version, if not download and install. 2 Options appears Delete or Repair, choose Delete, you're relocated BOINC-Project and files (WUs) are safe. Run BOIC, again and tick Advanced so you can change location(s). Now, you're done and can restart it. Do you have checked with GPUz, if CUDA is 'ticked'. (Or OpenCL!?) Or use a 'third party app.' |

OK thanks alot everyone i have 2 WU rinning now on my 560 at 12min for 2 . I now ask. since i installed the lunatics app it said i could crunch with ati gpu. which in my home pc i have 2 ati 5750's however it doesnt seem to be using them, is there something else i need to do? change a value in the app_info file on that pc perhaps? However i did notice once i installed the lunatic app my Multibeam WU CPU time to complete went down from about 4 hours to 45min!! is that normal? |

I'd assume that the original time was either an estimate or a different angle range. The usual time savings is about 50% As far as the ATI machine. YOu won't get seti work unless you use the Lunatics unified installer. Make sure you ask for the ati hd5 apps. the regular ati app is a bit slower on the 5XXX series cards. You'll also have to download work for the ati gpu since it won't convert any CPU WU's to GPU automatically. Changing WU's from CPU to GPU can be done with a rescheduler. However that is unlikely to be needed right now In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

you'd be better off seeing if you could receive work from seti first just to make sure the apps and app_info are working correctly. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

I guess im confused, i thought u just said the ati cards wont be able to do a workunit unless a rescheduler converts them. |

I guess im confused, i thought u just said the ati cards wont be able to do a workunit unless a rescheduler converts them. When we are up again you should get work marked for your ATI card. Work already on your system, however, is marked for CPU and BOINC does not move it of it's own accord. You could reschedule it, but it's better to wait till there is work available again. |

Again thx for all the advice i have the ati cards working now too. No i must ask in another machine i have 3 GTX 280's Do you guys think they can handle running more than 1 WU at a time as well or u think theyre better off 1 ata time since they are not fermi? |

Again thx for all the advice i have the ati cards working now too. No, Fermi can do more than 1 per gpu, those old GT200 type gpus can only do 1 per gpu, unless You like -177 errors. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

560TIs are a pain. Here's a WU that was first issued to two of them... http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=844694684 Both of them came in invalid. Next two I checked, one was complete but another 560TI invalid and the other was inconclusive with another 560TI. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Some are just to heavily overclocked. That might work with games but not for crunching 24/7. They just need to get adjusted properly and they work. 1.8 MHZ seems to much somewhere between 1.6 amd 1.7 should fix it. MSI Afterburner is a nice tool to do so. The big trouble of this cards is that the Core Voltage as it comes from factory settings is too low to work well on crunching (1.012V deffault, 0.95 iddle, while the nvidia specification is 1.05) so this is bad even for the deffault clocks. Afterburner can be used to adjust the voltages and to override the energy safe modes, but these options are locked by deffault for the 560Ti and it gives seriuos warnings when you are going to unlock it... So most people dosnt dare to change it to a more stable value...(but they increase the clocks anyway with no remorse) |

I know Mike, It was just frustrating seeing all that work having to be done over. NVIDIA sure bit the bug on that one. I wonder if they are doing okay on games? Too many times someone buys one of these cards and just doesn't pay any attention to them, expecting them to work right out of the box. That and a lot of people don't know how to change the voltage even if they do figure it out. Another thing I just noticed was another cruncher had an invalid task but when I checked it he had been paired with two other crunchers that were running fermi cards with the old V12 app. They validated each other as -9s while he, with the probable right answer got zilch.
