Looks (from the Cricket graph) like something broke around 1600 Berkeley time on Sunday, July 3... Can't upload... and only re-trys are downloading.

Yea... You can see the fall on the graph @ 3-Jul 19:30 Berkeley time (4-Jul 02:30 UTC), which is the same time that the server status page stalled showing the UL server as "disabled".
Sure it is the well known "long-weekend curse".

Notwithstanding the immense effort the SETI staff puts in, I'm still shocked that the project requires as much human intervention as it does. I understand if it's a software problem: those gremlins take som time to work out. If it's hardware, I'm sure, myself included, that there are people more than willing to donate hardware.

Bruno has been having problems as of late. They are going to try a new CPU. If that's not the answer, it may be the mobo.
If that's the case, there may be some special fundraising efforts in the near future to acquire another new server.
Stay tuned for further developments.

It was vader that dropped the ball this time. MB assimilators stopped on Friday night (or so) and queue kept growing to over a million. Now the disks are full, I assume.

I understand that sometimes it's hard to tell whether the assimilators are totally stopped, or just being slowed by the "nitpicker" or the RFI processes.(Unless, of course, those processes are stopped, as they were Friday, July 1...)

@ S@h crew

What's with the AP validator?

NC subforum : AP validaters working???? (RED ALERT)

Not a well time currently.. ;-)

The Lunatics crew is near to release the new AP OpenCL nVIDIA app.
But currently the AP results (of the beta test) can't be checked online, so this point is far away.. :-(

Someone could guess when the AP results validation is working again?

No sooner than when the problem that is causing the AP validator to stall on some results is solved. A couple of weeks ago Matt said there was an issue with some AP results causing the validator to stall, and that this was having undesirable side effects on a number of other processes, and was deep rooted, so hard to diagnose.
(indeed this is the headline article in this thread...)

Problems dont ask for good times i guess.

The crew is busy i know but a short note would have been nice.

Because of message 1125649 of perryjay in a 'panic thread' of the NC subforum here, it looks like Raistmer had contact to Eric and posted the answer at the Lunatics beta forum area.

Raistmer posted this message from Eric over on Lunatics forums...

We're having some problems with the AstroPulse database. Everything astropulse related is down. Don't know when it will be back up.

Eric

Because of this, I guess the new nVIDIA OpenCL AP app will be released in one month or something.. :-(

In case no one's mentioned it, it is extremely hard to update to/from SETI's servers since at least 0915 Berkeley time on 7/22...
