All my AP work is going into the pending pile. Although many have the wingman reported also they still are waiting for the validator.
For example..........770825421

What gives??

Just checked the server status page.....not that it's real reliable or anything.
But all validators are online except one.
Only potential problem I see is a million 440 waiting for assimilation.

AP validator 3 seems to be the problem
The number waiting for validation is growing since 24 hours.

Yeah, same here. All AP's going to pending even those with wingman already reported. One validator offline, and since that one went offline, the "Workunits waiting for validation" que has been growing enormously all the time. It's as of now up to 24,086. No AP's seems to be validated at all....

Edit: And of course this happened when I had successfully transitioned My Q8200 with an ATI GPU, to AP only, not one single MB WU left to crunch, but 95 AP's in the cache.

Now its RAC is dropping like a stone, instead of as I expected rising like a rocket. Yeah well, nothing to do but wait until the AP validation starts working again.

A couple of weeks ago, Matt mentioned here that they were having problems with the Astropulse science database, and that there were also issues with the validators and assimilators.

Apparently these are still not entirely fixed. The continuing problems with bruno probably don't help much, either.

I am certain that Matt, Jeff, and Eric are working on all these problems, and will get them fixed as soon as they are able. Until then, around here, patience is still not just a virtue, it is a requirement. (8{)

I know this thread is about a week old but has there been any resolution to this problem. Almost all my AP WU's have been validated by a wingman but they just sit in my AP pendings. And I really wish something would happen as my slowest computer seems to get the most APs, the last taking just over 90 hours to complete. I would hate to think this was wasted time.

The link you have there only works for you btw.

However I looked at your machines and most of your AP tasks are in the state of "Completed, waiting for validation". Which mean they have NOT been validated. While they have a 2nd results turned in they will have to be checked by the server to see if they match. With the validators running slow it is just a matter of having to wait.

Sorry about the link.....

That is correct, both myself and the wingman are waiting Pending Valadation state.

It is just that I have been waiting on some of these since the end of June and have not had credit for any AP since then. I will continue to wait, hoping the deadline does not pass and cause some additional strange behavior.

Thanks.

Should not be a problem since you reported in time.

Is it a coincidence that the AP validators were stopped at the same approximate time that Raistmers GPU AP apps were released? Suddenly AP work can be done in a few hours instead of days. We all know that the "credit new" system does not work well when one wu is done in a very short time and the other takes 10 times longer. One gets overpaid or screwed depending on which one is yours.

Don't expect AP validators any time soon. The credit system needs to be hacked again before that happens!

We ATI guys are running it over 6 month without any problems.

The one important validator ap_validate3, is the one being down, and according to what Joe Segur posted in another thread ap_validate3 is the only validator that validates the AP work we're crunching now v505.

ap_validate1 checks "astropulse" if any unexpectedly appear.
ap_validate2 checks "astropulse_v5" if any unexpectedly appear.
ap_validate3 checks "astropulse_v505".

So with ap_validate3 being offline all the time since many days now (weeks), it doesn't help one bit that the other two ap validators are online.

And I agree with you that it is something strange with the fact that the AP validate/database problem started at around the same time that Raistmers ATI GPU apps were released into the wild, and installed on thousands of computers to crunch AP in a fraction of the time AP took to crunch on CPU's.

Sure, but there were extremely few who run it before it was released into the wild in an easy to install package. Now it's run on thousands of computers.

Raistmer's ATI OpenCL AP app was released on 11 Sep 2010:

ATI/AMD GPU-only and HYBRID GPU+CPU Optimized AstroPulse 5.06 (r449-r456) for Windows OS

But only installed on a very low number of computers, because it was needed advanced skills with app_info editing. When it was incorporated into the latest installer, anyone with a suitable ATI card could install it. There were just a few of you who run it before, compared to now when there are thousands.

I have so far decided to not do APs until the validator gets up running again, should just have done it yesterday before I got 20 new APs :)

Yeah, I'll drop AP too for now. That is when I have crunched the 97 AP's I still have in my cache. I've got 67 finished, waiting for validation, and my RAC is as low as it's been for ages.

I was crunching AP but the validator stopped. I have 60+ waiting to validate. And with a estimated crunch time now at 716 hours I also turned off AP. Just one would stop any more downloads of MB for CUDA. I have not had any of my GPU AP work validated yet.
