Try Kingston Hyper X, as for me I needed the 8GB 1333 77720 package which is a bit over 100 bucks at newegg. Replaced some older Mushkin which appears to have caused daily random freezes. Its been running 24/7 since last Wednesday under various stress loads and not one freeze-up. |

why does it seem there is so many problems with server memory? i'm not just talking about the seti servers, but any servers in general seem very picky and there seems to be a high failure rate for server memory. The difference being error correction. Your PC gets a memory error who cares it drops the data and it goes by so fast you don't notice it. ECC memory get an error, it checks it, then it checks it again, then if it still fails it flags it in the firmware, and the OS. On a PC this can show up as a graphical sprite, a missed mouse input, or whatever, but this is not allowed on a server where data integrity is everything! Kingston HyperX does not provide an ECC solution. Error correction is essential. Hynix is the brand of choice for the SunFire series on servers - in my professional opinion. Yes, you are right.. ;-) There I tested both DL server ~ 5 times. .13 showed the upper mentioned symptoms. .18 answered always immediately. Now I tested again a few times and both show now this symptoms. A pity. I hope one day S@h get more from the 1 Gbits/sec internet connection. The currently 100 Mbits/sec is much too less. - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - ![]() |

No 6.08 wu available? Only got a few last night. Surely could use a thousand. My gpu is starving. This is the technical news forum i.e. for news from the staff (and thank yous from us). Please direct all your technical questions to the Number crunching forum. To answer the question, there are tasks availiabe and atm no server issues. Everybody is trying to get work, so it takes some time for the individual to get full caches (unless you only need a handful of tasks) especially if the download link is saturated.
