May be coincidental, but my 3 day old download queue has completed. Set no new tasks three days ago. |

Server Status page has frozen at 5 Jun 2011 | 7:20:45 UTC I reckon that's 'Game Over' until Monday. |

Server status shows all running, but the Gigabyte ethernet graph is right at the top of it's capacity all the time. Yesterday I had a backlog of new SETI Enhanced 6.03 downloads, and cleared them slowly last night. This morning the quads have a load of uploads refusing to go, and these are growing. Unlike the slow catch up on the downloads yesterday, there seems to be no movement of the uploads. Between last night and this morning something has changed or broken. Will need to wait more than 24 hours for the team to rectify this I suspect. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

At least the download servers will get a chance for that tea-break soon... |

I'm surprised about the following message of BOINC which come from time to time since ~ 00:42 UTC: 'Scheduler request failed: Timeout was reached' - after ~ 60 secs, IIRC normal this happened ~ 600 secs in past.. BTW. I have set <max_tasks_reported>, the set value is higher than the reported - so this shouldn't be the reason that my report is ~ 50 % faster/shorter. |

Yes, but is it life as we know it? Carola ------- I'm multilingual - I can misunderstand people in several languages! |

For a while there is was. Now it's half life. No work to download (splitters not running), but at least all the uploads will clear quickly. Grant Darwin NT |

That sounds perfectly sensible. Now let's sit back and watch the cries of "I'm not getting any new work", "why aren't I getting any new work", "my cache will run out in 9.5 days"....... If the staff have turned the splitters off, which is what the status "disabled" means, then they have taken a positive action because they want to do something to the servers the splitters are running on, so sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labours when they turn the splitters back on again. That sounds perfectly sensible. Maybe we could start a sticky thread with all the answers to these questions from over the years since it seems we keep having to say the same things over and over. That way we just have to give a link to the thread when the questions come in again. :-) PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

That sounds perfectly sensible. Why do you think I've been pondering writing a FAQ for those questions for the past year? :D Just to save myself the effort to keep repeating the answers. "I'm not getting any new work", "why aren't I getting any new work", "my cache will run out in 9.5 days" Is boinc asking for work. have you checked on the ssp that work is available, have you chekd on cricket that work is downloadable. why is your chache so high. I think that covers most ;) Carola ------- I'm multilingual - I can misunderstand people in several languages! |

"I'm not getting any new work", "why aren't I getting any new work", "my cache will run out in 9.5 days" The Cricket graphs are not readily accessible - you have to know where to look (I didn't, until I saw the url posted in a forum message). Maybe put a link/button on the home page, right next to the one for the Server Status page, so folks who bother to look at the home page can find it. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |
