My slower machines seem to be OK it is main machine that is mostly screwed so I agree with Brodo and feel most don't see what we see. Yeah that would be nice as right now I'd have to count them all and right now I can scroll down the 1024x768 screen almost 3.5 times using the page down button. Well then it's just a DOS attack on the kittyman, right? Must be on me too... My 3 boxes have connected a total of 4 times since Monday at 0730 PST. One of the three hasn't connected at all in that time and has over 500 WU's to report. The i7 has close to 500 to upload. it's interesting to see one machine take 4 days to upload 500 units, but be unable to report, while another can't upload more than a handfull but manages to report twice in that time frame. And yes, all the boxes are 24/7 connected, and there's been no button mashing. It's pretty obvious from reading these boards that mashing would just aggravate my carpal tunnel. (start WHINE.EXE)Wish I could run a backup project, but all the non-uploadable work prevents that. It's frustrating that most likely, this won't get much better till after Tuesday's outage.(end WHINE.EXE) |

Well then it's just a DOS attack on the kittyman, right? I will boot WHINE.EXE if I actually run out of work. Not close to that yet, with the cache I keep. Thank God. Then it's off to another project, because I will not spend the money for idle kitties. Takes too much to keep these rigs running for that. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." You can still have a backup project that works fine. I've been crunching for Collatz for instance. |

THIS is my project. And it will be running on my computers after I die. You can't really blame me for being upset about my pet project having problems. I know how to run a cruncher....... Sorry..I just got mad right now.....I am over it already. You see........ It's not really about me, my RAC, my contributions. I am upset for Eric's project. It is in trouble right now.......and that is what I am worried about. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Hmmm.. that must have been a change I missed. IIRC, too many pending uploads from one project would prevent new work from all others. Really is a non-issue, though. The two CUDA boxes have over 1300 VLARs for the CPUs to process, so I'm in no danger of "going dark". With no CUDA work, the completion times have actually improved on the CPU units. |

13 hours on and the 2 rigs have managed between them to upload 64 completed tasks. That just leaves 936 to go. RAC has fallen from 69k to 50k. Dave |

Are the upload servers down? I can download new work without difficulty, however I have been trying to upload completed work since Thursday (18 Feb 2010) without success. Keeps backing off. Read in one of the other forums that some servers malfunctioned after a/c failure. Any idea when we will be able to upload? Thanks Duck |

Uploads are taking time - not sure why, but it is just a case of hanging on in there and being patient - took a week to upload all my completed tasks. |

Another thing I've noticed. My 2 boxes with V6.6.36 clients, with their constant pounding of the servers, are uploading around 10 units an hour. My 2 boxes with 6.10.18 are going into "project back off mode" and have not managed an upload for 3 days even with the occasional "prod". It doesn't make much difference though, the 6.6 clients can't get through to report the uploaded tasks in. Even if they could, I'm still a long way from the 2 x CPU limit to get new work. As others have said though, at least it's a chance to clear the VLAR backlog on the CPU's. One of my rigs had 1300 odd waiting to crunch, it's now down to 650. Philosophically Yours Brodo |

well, slowly running dry. no prob. rac falling. no prob. doing another project. no prob. some units had a deadline today in the night and weren't reported. BIG problem! some more units will get lost today in the afternoon. plain sucks. why? not because of rac/credit/personal stuff, but work that has been done will be done again. just a waste of everything (power/network use/disk space/whatever). |
