Started crunching on my overclocked Celeron 300. It was a beast, got that bad boy up to 500mhz. 128kb of cache HOLLAH! Then the cheating became rampant in SETI and there wasn't any point. Walked away for a good while. Now maybe BOINC has a handle on the cheaters (and maybe not). Mostly SETI seems not to give a **** about the crunchers, so oh well. But, only by a few days to a couple weeks. I was sure that there would be many more from May of 1999. My start with SETI was reading about it in the newspaper one morning at work. The article's title had "Star Trek" in it, which was what caught my eye. When I got home from work, I quickly joined. My first cruncher was a 486DX2-66 with 256MB RAM and an 8GB hard drive. .oO(Or was it a 2GB hard drive?) Hmmmm.... Memory is a bit blurry...
