Profile: Jim Welch

Personal background
I joined SETI@Home on May 17, 1999. When I first read about the experiment I knew this was something that I wanted to participate and be a part of. The concept of distributed computing is also important. It has been interesting and I have learned a lot over the years. I will never be a mega-cruncher for the project, but will continue to make my small and steady contribution to the study for evidence of life elsewhere in the universe.

I am a professional archaeologist and have been making my living in the business of cultural resource management since 1978. I have worked throughout much of the US, but the majority of my experience has been gained in the High Plains, Great Basin, and Rocky Mountain regions. I am currently the Senior Cultural Resources Specialist at Atwell, LLC in Lakewood, Colorado.
