We're sitting at - 31C (I don't think my wife is enjoying this) We had a spell of -10C to -15C last Winter (in some areas it was the coldest in 20 years) and there were water mains popping up out of the road everywhere due to freezing and the power companies struggled to cope with demand. Of course, you would have to suck a lot of heat out your head first to get your eyeballs down to that, but it does happen. I see Edmonton (just a bit east of Robert) set a new record Saturday night, -46C. That's -51F, and it is without the wind. Western Canada is stuck in a nasty bit of weather right now. Snow isn't so bad as long as you don't get a rain storm after it. Otherwise it melts slowly and slow is fine. We all know what the forecast is for me in Pasadena on January 1. Almost the same here, It's called the high desert, But It's all in a huge rain shadow around here, except from the south for the most part, So for snow here the conditions have to be just right or no snow or rain.
