Yes, I'm afraid, my avatar really is a picture of myself - although to be fair, at full size, it looks much better. As I do! Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Well i have a pic that i would make my avatar, but the 4kb by 100x100 pixels put the brakes on that. I tried resizieng with infraview and photo suite. looks like i took the pic thrugh a fogged over glass shower door. Original pis is 128mb. Of course windows vista makes it all 10 times harder. edit- never mind Im just a dolt. [/quote] Old James |

Resize? Not here at least, You need to crop the area You want to use, I used the small area focusing on My face, using paint shop pro v4.12(don't bother looking for It as the owners had It scrubbed from the web as It can be used forever and the makers of the software don't like that and can't stop It either and It does work under XP Pro x64, As I got past the problem of how to install It as It normally used to use a 16bit installer even though the program is an NT compatible 32bit program, go figure) The avatar came from a picture that's 2816x2112 in size, the result is 100x100 and is good enough. Oh and Yer not a dolt, As You post here, So You can't be a dolt. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

I think it was noted here a few times before that most people don't put a real picture of themselves as their avatar. But all too often, the image they do choose to represent themselves can often tell a lot about the persons personality and profile in real life. If you take me for instance, i have used a pint of Guinness for a long time now simply because i prefer anonymity on the Internet. But in real life, the pint of Guinness image does tell you quite a bit about me. So i do believe you can tell a lot from a persons avatar. John. |

I use avatars of old airplanes on a range of forums, because that stuff interests me. In a sense, it represents me. (Old, a bit broken down, but I can still soar. Sometimes.) If you insist on a narrow description of reality, I can refer you to one of my web pages. |

I'm a true Spartan from Sparta, Greece -- if you've seen the movie 300 you'll recognize my avatar. "Account closed"! That's the last time I welcome new people to the boards. Must be scaring them off. :/ Hope I didn't insult him with my Jared joke! |
