Just installed boinc on an vista laptop and keep getting thos messages;

So the workunits wont start crunching. What to do?

Hi, these files aren't Work Unit's (WU's) but are the executables to crunch AP V5.05 WU's.

Wat Fred probeerde te zeggen is dat je daar de zogenaamde 'geoptimaliseerde' executables probeert te downloaden vanaf Seti. Ergens heb je een foutje gemaakt waarbij je of een bestaande BOINC directory bent gaan gebruiken, of je hebt er een half overgekopieerd van een ander systeem.

Maar uit zichself zal BOINC, nieuw geinstalleerd, niet proberen om welke file dan ook met een SSE optie in de naam vanaf Seti te downloaden. Dan heb je een verwijzing naar de geoptimaliseerde versie ergens in de client-state.xml file staan, of al een app_info.xml file in de Seti directory.

Als je geen geoptimalisserde bestanden wilt gebruiken, haal de app_info.xml file uit je Seti directory en reset daarna het Seti project in BOINC Manager.
Als je juist de geoptimaliseerde bestanden wilt gebruiken, dan zul je de Unified Installer opnieuw moeten downloaden en gebruiken.

Zorg ervoor dat BOINC compleet uit is alvorens je de UI gebruikt.

Well, I've done some "stuff", like downloading some files and throwing them into the BOINC directory, like you suggested. Then all of a sudden, it started to count-down, then it suddenly launched itself. WOW!
