# In Alabama, it is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.

# In Norfolk, Virginia, a woman can't go out without wearing a corset. (There was a civil-service job- for men only- called a corset inspector.)

Colorado is the only state in the nation — and most likely the only government in the world — that makes it a crime to disparage food

(And this law isn't all that old...)

It sounds like a good law to me. It says it's a crime to make a "knowingly false" state statement about food. That is not the same as "disparaging" food. If I say that I hated the dinner I had at Lou's the other night, that is disparaging. It is not a crim because it is true. However, if I say I got a human finger in my meal at Lou's. And in reality I didn't, then I have committed a crime. I made a knowlingly faulse statement. The law was passed to make it criminal to create false claims about food. Remember the lady who claimed she found a finger in her Chilli at Wendy's? She cost the chain millions in lost sales. She is now in jail because it was proven that she made up the whole story and had planted the finger.

Elgin Illinois - We have a city council directive about NUISANCE LAWS - they can fine a homeowner WITHOUT NOTICE a sum of money which if not paid in 10 days can grow to hundreded of dollars and eventual suit in CITY court for grass 4" tall, and other offenses catgorized as nuisances - such as not parking on asphalt or concrete, tall weeds, an unplated car, unsightly BUSHES (whatever that means), AND ANYTHING YOUR NEIGHBOR WANT TO TURN IN FOR A REWARD. And the city council bragged about they nailed 750 city residents in the pat year.

I wouldn't have believed it, but I guess...

But according to the state of Colorado, the rain that falls on Holstrom's property is not hers to keep. It should be allowed to fall to the ground and flow unimpeded into surrounding creeks and streams, the law states, to become the property of farmers, ranchers, developers and water agencies that have bought the rights to those waterways

Any city in Missouri can levy a tax to support a band, as long as the mayor plays piccolo and each band member can eat peas with a knife.

In many parts of Canada, the stuff under the ground (oil, coal, etc.) may or may not be yours. In some areas, at some times, the rights to these have been bought and sold seperately from the surface. You may or may not know this when you buy a piece of land, including city lots. Some people have recently found this out when the drill rig parked on their lawn. All quite legal, just a little surprising.

Now there's a truly useless and ridiculous law if ever I saw one. Not to mention a bit like so:

The people in this State must of really caused A bunch of trouble

You can't kill a squirrel with a gun in a courtroom in Canton, Mississippi And in Hazelhurst you'll get in trouble if you carry fish down the street. Finally, in Meridian the law forbids you to roll a safe down the street on its wheels.

I don't know when that law was enacted, but it makes sense if it was to stop organized dog fights.
