Almost entirely AP_v5's fault on that. It seems that every WU I report now gets immediately validated. Not all the time, but most of the time I'll report 4 WUs and 1-4 of them will validate immediately, and the others will go pending, but it seems that when one goes pending, one of the other pending WUs clear up. I haven't seen it go across the 33k barrier yet though. It is nice though when you have a good day and 4-12 of them get validated. RAC goes sky-high.
