Actually We're not the Guinea Pig project, We're the online Beta testers for the Boinc website. ;)

Well, most of us got "Volunteer tester" to their name - so nothing to complain...

Looks like they have most of it untangled for now.......

What I have looked at seems back to normal (whatever this is.....LOL).

The person who was playing with different web pages yesterday late evening Berkeley time ought to remember that is also early morning in Europe. With the present high network traffic and server upgrades etc. we Europeans might just want to know how things were going during our night, and whether we can give a sigh of relief because nothing broke or prepare to panic.

As a note the layout of those trial pages was b*****y awful, in my opinion.

Just a random thought here:

On the rare occasions that I have to code webpages (a chore to be avoided if at all possible, imho), I test the be-heck out of them on my computer before I let the rest of the planet look at them.

Most others, even large, dynamic sites, do the same.

One wonders why. . .?

My understanding is this was an unintentional error by David Anderson. :)

As distinct from an intentional error, that would be? ;-)

It is certainly slow.....really slow! I thought it is because of residing on a lost island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean...!!!

Oh-oh, this is how it started last evening.

Let’s hope that our mysterious programmer lets Mr. Lebofsky take a peek at the code first this time. ;)

I think the mainpage is still broken. There is an underscore in 'Your Account' and it says 'Stats' where it says statistics on all the other pages.

I'm pretty sure our not so mysterious programmer "Dave" has his picture on this page and is above Matt in the pecking order.

Yeah, I know. Just trying to be tactful.

As for the pecking order, well, the smart boss hires good people and then gets out of their way.

But the guy causing the difficulties is named Murphy, I think.

I do the same, but every once in a while something surprising happens, and as soon as I'm comfortable, and turn my back on things, they'll come badly unglued.

Someone else mentioned Murphy, but I believe it is O'Toole's Commentary that would apply: Murphy was an optimist.
