oh good grief. You are talking rubbish. I have no idea why I am bothering to even argue with you. You simply don't want to know and will go through the most amazing contortions of reality just to not admit you are wrong. Nothing I say is going to change your mind. It's too firmly shut. You're right...you're not going to make me blame Nestle for the deaths or even accuse them of malice when stupidity on behalf of the parents is clearly the issue |

You simply don't want to know and will go through the most amazing contortions of reality just to not admit you are wrong. Nothing I say is going to change your mind. It's too firmly shut. Actually, I am a single parent with a well paid full time job who happens to know (through experience) about feeding young babies...and trust me...you are totally wrong, and no matter what you say, I know better than you about this. It is well documented what Nestle did and is still doing. Just you saying it isn't so without checking your facts is plain rubbish. Any comments you make about it being a simple matter to provide clean bottles and water (clean enough for a baby..NOT and adult.) are plain rubbish. You seem to think that a baby somehow has comparable needs to adult and can survive for as long as an adult without fluids. You have no idea what you are talking about and are seemingly totally unwilling to actually find out the facts. It's sad..and quite frankly..you are living in cloud cuckoo land and are not worth even trying to reason with. The facts are that Nestle did this deliberately and cynically knowing the harm it causes. They are still doing it against the trade guidelines set out by the World Health Organisation who know a little more about babies than it seems you do. Reality Internet Personality |

Precisely why I quoted a doctor...his credentials are listed on the page. Do you know better than him too?
I didn't say it never happened, I said it wasn't done with malice and you've continually failed to contradict that point.
Like someone told you earlier, mixing the formula with gasoline or drain opener would have the same effect. Nestle isn't responsible for the stupidity of others....notice the lack of legal action taken against them. |

Fair warning well, I heard library fees shall be quite cheap.. for those who are too close-minded to use Google to find facts ;) Don't eveb bother to discuss with right-wing, military-loving, emancipation-hating reactionists, they most probably never change their minds. Account frozen... |

The facts are that Nestle did this deliberately and cynically knowing the harm it causes. They are still doing it against the trade guidelines set out by the World Health Organisation who know a little more about babies than it seems you do. That you happen to be of the mind that the people at Nestle do it cynically, or that it causes harm does not mean that they agree with you. Similarly, those very same people probably aren't interested in WHO guidelines any more than BrainSmashR or any number of other people are. Rest assured, Greenfarce isn't interested in any libertarian guidelines, nor are the libertarians interested in any Greenfarce guidelines. They don't care. You really can't even make a case that those people broke any laws. All you've really made a case for is that some people do some exceedingly stupid things with everyday household products. Dear jeebus, some kids drink bleach! That must be the fault of the bleach maker, the cabinet maker, the bottle maker, and the cartoonist that drew that kewt little skull and cross bones that attracted the little rocket scientist. Every one of them KNEW they were putting profit before lives and yet, they did it anyway. Whether you like it or not, baby formula is used every day to supplement or replace breastfeeding by millions and millions of women. While you and WHO may not consider it ideal, that is a decision for individual mothers to make for themselves. The product, when used properly, is safe and effective, just like any other everyday consumer product. That does not mean than Kool-Aid can be held responsible when Jim Jones makes it with cyanide (even though they didn't put "DO NOT MIX WITH CYANIDE" on the label), any more than Nestle can be held responsible when mothers use contaminated water or milk to make formula. Regardless, it still comes down to the fact that there are any number of people on earth that simply do not agree with your assessment of any given situation, and couldn't care less what you think about it. That poses a problem because if you can understand why you are free to reach whatever conclusion you do, you can understand why they are free to reach whatever conclusion they do. Even if that means that they do not think as you wish them to think. If you don't want to sell baby formula (or bulldozers) to people you do not think deserve such things, or who you think are incapable of making the right decision for themselves, don't. There's always someone else that will, and regardless, even if said formula were BETTER than breast milk, driving prices down STILL benefits those who can afford it the least. The prices at the pub are falling; it just costs more to get there. ;) As long as your politicians have their way, you generally won't. Their policies drive costs (and therefore prices) up. Yes, even Azure Boris. He'll only drive them up a minuscule bit less than any of the rest of them would have. Maybe. If he's really lucky. You'll be payin' for it, either way. You'll be payin' for it, either way. No doubt... Because the government politicians and the corporate elitists have an elaborate game of 'good guy bad guy' going on... And the rest of the population is working so hard just to get by that they don't even notice... Isn't it great to be free... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

I mean, even the eeeevil peanut butter manufacturers profit off of peanut butter, even when they KNOW that x number of people will die, every single day, even when their product is used exactly as it was intended to be used. Please don't write or say "off of". Your use of grammar is even worse than your political and social stance. Whilst in this country, do please try to mix with persons who can raise your level of culture somewhere nearer to the civilised. |

Wish I could afford to post smileys. I guess with the rising costs of everything else, I just can't afford it. They do leave a very large carbon footprint and their use is discouraged by the EPA. me@rescam.org |

Wish I could afford to post smileys. I guess with the rising costs of everything else, I just can't afford it. I can afford those US$ 18 it costs me for a Millan subscription because I save a lot of money. I buy a lot of my groceries in discount stores, groceries which have the same quality as the brand ones, because they are produced the same place and contains the same, being made from the same recipes... Prices fall? Humm. With a 52 billion dollar net! I still do 95% of my shopping at 'Mom and Pop' stores. Sure you might think I pay close to twice as much as say a Supercenter or Giant Chain, but this just isn't the case. It's only about 8-15% more, but the real value is I know everyone who works there, exactly where the produce came from, and how 'new' it was. What country the tools and hardware came from, the USA! And at the end of the day I know to whom the money goes. Not to mention all the time I save not waiting on someone. Those hours really add up! I love free time, gives me more time for life, and BOINC. :D Granted everyone has there own favorite 128 pack of toilet paper, and YES you look like a fool carrying it (must have eaten something spicy!!!) He-he. But I enjoy the freebie's and perks that go with the small independant store. Don't know what I am talking about, in this day and age? Try it! I can bet you no one will be shopping there, stress free, full shelves, and lots of help. You'll be asking yourself "Where are all the customers?" Everyone else is at the Walmart. They drove 15 miles round trip in traffic, waiting in line for an hour, to save 3 cents on laundry detergent. Haven't set foot in there since 1994! The Search for Extra Terrestrial KItties!! |
