Anyone going to watch it? I will try, but it might be overcast here.

Yes, I wish I could see the satellite, someone in the West might can watch it explode. I think you can see the eclipse from Coast to Coast. I live in NC, and I can see it tonight.

Latest report here in the middle of the US says that the skies will be 30-60% overcast.

And if that's not discouraging enough, the temps will be in the single digits (F) with a wind chill well below zero.

[edit]
And if I do venture out, I'm taking an umbrella with me so as not to get beaned by any stray satellite parts.
[/edit]

I believe mine ran at about $300, but I can't remember for sure. I will look and get an exact figure.

I was off by $100, it only costs $200, but celestron sells the same setup for a little less.

I just checked the clear sky clock, and it says that the sky should be clearing up in a few hours and stay clear for the night. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

High Point for me. I think , that between all of us, one will see it and can give a first hand account. Having said that, I wish you all good luck.

Just took a look outside and it looks like it may be clear enough for me to observe the eclipse tonight.

Looks like I'm going to have complete cloud cover, but for those that can't view it directly, Peter Grego's Cosmic Backyard is going to put it on his webcam.

There was a crystal clear sky here over southern England 2 hours ago. Now a little hazy but the Moon is clearly visible.
