Message 687292 - Posted: 1 Dec 2007, 17:06:14 UTC - in response to Message 687283.

QUESTION: is Crunch3r's NEW Boinc version 'using' Francois' (who's?) Code etc ?

The Boinc client is separate from the science application. The Boinc client just manages things. It is the science app (optimized app) that does the crunching.
Who's code is an optimized app, and is not related to Crunch3r's update of the Boinc client.

They were communicating, but I don't know if they were really 'working on it' together. Might have swapped some ideas, but other than that, I believe that who? is working on his own.
Meanwhile, Crunch3r has been doing a great job updating his client and releasing his 64 bit stuff.

Hopefully all the Kitties are warm, Here It's 45F outside and thanks to an old sweat shirt on the front of the swamp cooler(window mounted), The air in here stays fairly warm and right now It's just barely above 70F in here.

Oh and Angel is in cleaning mode right now, She must be happy I guess.

Right now Horsepower TV is on.

Woof. ;)

45f??? Lucky you. Right now it's about 19f here and starting to snow.....the latest forecast is for 4 - 8 inches of the stuff. Had to turn on the real furnace cuz the crunching rigs couldn't keep whole house warm. They do OK down to aroud 25f, then I have to crank up the auxilliary heat source.

My recomendation (sorry by my english):
<snip>

Yeah, I recomend them!!!
It's what I'm using on both my AMD systems and it works great! :D

Thanks again. I've been running them on my dual core since yesterday afternoon with no problems, and just installed them on my x64 single core.

Does Crunch3rs Boinc version have any effect either way on other projects? Anyone using it to run other projects?

I'm not Philly... I don't know... but you can try it and test it, and tell us your experience...

Best regards.

Or it might be best to post the question on Crunch3r's message board.
You will probably get an answer quicker that way.

Question is, Does Your house shake when the wind blows at the longest side of Your house, Mine does, gusts are at 43mph(68kmh / 19.0m/s). Sorry about the snow, At least You may get some soon.

In past with BOINC V5.10.13 I had 3143 and 3144 MHz.
Since I updated to BOINC V5.10.28 and Crunch3rs BOINC V6.1.0.32-files, the CPU-speed is shown now much more different in the overview.. 30xx to 3144
..so I don't know where the problem is..

I let run the OC-settings 314 x 10 since a few months..

What are your experiences?

My experience is that the benchmark speed reported by BOINC - any version of BOINC - is completely untrustworthy and should be ignored at all times.

Hello fellow KWSN

Newbie number-cruncher question -

I've been recommended Crunch3R's enhanced apps, but am confused as to which version to install...

The machine is an AMD Athlong 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ but of course Vista is intalled with the 32-bit edition...

I presume I should install the 32-bit edition of Crunch3r's apps, but wanted to ask my teammates first.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

2.4V Windows x32 SSE2 AMD

..if you want to let run the 64 bit app, you must install first a 64 bit OS.

..not only your teammates can answer your questions..!! ;-)
