Please be so kind to all of us, and go back on topic, without insults.

But feel free to insult the ant with impunity... ;)

Tiny fact:

impunity:

From WordNet: Exemption from punishment or loss.

From The Devil's Dictionary: Wealth.

Last time I read about a wanting "interracial" marriage illegal, it was when I learned about the Nazis and their concept of an "Aryan race".
Do you consider yourself to be an Aryan, BrainSmashR?

I'll answer your question when you show where I stated that I wanted interracial marriage to be illegal.

At one time it was unlawful for races to intermarry. Was that a good law?

Yep, I don't approve or condone interracial relationships and if it were put to a vote, it would be illegal in most states not unlike gay marriage.

Do you see what I mean? Or should I have misinterpreted something here?

I don't think you misinterpreted anything at all as the phrase "I want" does not appear anywhere in my post or your quote of that post and I certainly don't believe for one second that you think MY opinions dictate law in this country.

Simply put, I can disagree with an action without the desire for it to be illegal. For instance, I don't like alcoholics either, but that doesn't mean I think it should be illegal for them to drink everyday. However that doesn't mean I would be opposed to some method of curtailing an activity I consider detrimental to society.

SNIP MY STUFF..

Snip...

Now if YOU'RE so interested in my family history, you can view my family tree on my website, parts of which date back to 1640...but then why should you when it's so much easier to attack others instead of accepting the fact that your opinion is in the minority in this country.

I am always interested in peoples heritage... and more than that I am interested in the myths and beliefs people hold around their own heritages.

Most of us (certainly true of those with European ancestory) can map our 'family tree/ names' back to the 1600s but that often does not show racial heritage.

I did look at your website. I couldn't see your 'family "tree"' - but just a connected set of names.

One of the big problems with family trees though is that so many family's up until 30 years ago tended to hide their mixed race heritages.

Truth is that there is a high likelyhood that you BrainSmashR have mixed marriage in your heritage but don't even realise it.

You may find with a definitive DNA Heriateg test that you actually owe your very existence to an interracial relationship...

From your perspective wouldn't that be really cool to find out?

I'd be interested to see the results :o)

Personally I doubt 'Big Brother' or Capitalists really care what race we are from as long as they can control us and make profit from us.

PS:

The word "Liberal" is derived from the Latin word "liber" and means "free"..

Which makes calling someone a "Liberal" a commendation rather than an insult...

Unless of course we buy into the whole current party political value system... Which by and large wants us to hate free people and for us to love "Big Brother"...

What a game we play :o(

Back to SETI crunching:

I wonder what would happen if we did find that signal out there and were able to invite "aliens" to out planet.

What if a whole bunch of them 'aliens' turned up and wanted to settle down and some wanted to marry some 'Earthlings'..

Would we stop being bothered by interracial marriages and start worrying about interstella procreation??

Just a thought!

Closer to home:

I'm a 'big brother' to two of my younger sisters.

One of them married a guy from a different ethnic background.

Her husband is a fine and loving man.

They both created a family that is law abiding, tax paying and cohesive.

Their two boys are healthy, strong and intelligent.

What more than that could a 'big brother' ever want?

Actually the greater likelihood is that you are of mixed heritage and can't fathom the concept that you are abnormal rather than normal. According to MSNBC and Stanford, in 2005 only 7% of all marriages in the US were interracial...as we travel BACK through time, that number decreases significantly. In fact, prior to 1967, Loving vs. Virginia, it was still illegal in 15 states.

7% of a people who are already mixed race and mixed heritage tells me nothing.

As I said earlier:

Personally I don't have to care about my race as I am British.

Even though you can still see regional differences we are a hybrid of aborigional peoples, angles, saxons, gals, celts, picts, romans, normans and even ancient africans and ancient asians... et al..

The English language even includes Arabic and Hindus words.

I am definately of mixed heritage and race just like you BrainSmashR.

Since the whole of the human species is intermingled throught-out history the only abnormality is to deny ones own vast, mixed race and often unknown heritages.

As you are from the USA it is quite likely that at some point you share genetic heritage that joins my European heritage...

We are practically brothers BrainSmashR ;o)

Could you imagine our family reunion :o))

While I'll concede that the oldest human remains are from Africa, that in no way, shape, or form makes us all African just like my ancestors hailing from western Europe in no way, shape or form makes me European and your denial of that fact doesn't change a thing.

Because I believe in evolution due of the overwhelming amount of evidence which supports that theory...while the overwhelming lack of evidence (1 book) that supports creationism is why I do not believe in that theory.

It's not Greek rocket science...

Evolutionists don't believe that man evolved from monkies, Jeffrey. But I do miss your rather entertaining 'holy book' based intelligent design/creationist theories from last year.

Anywho!

I'm surprised I've missed this thread. I'm going to have to buy popcorn in bulk I guess.

Don't kill yourself yet as I think they are both wrong...

Evolutionist actually believe we evolved from a type of 'primordial snot'...

... and we are not "apes" - we are "SETI forum members"...

Actually thinking about it have we evolved at all?
