It keeps telling me that I have 1 unread message in my inbox when I read it 6 times already. I have two unread messages that I am getting tired of reading (no insult meant to those that sent them) Reality Internet Personality |

It keeps telling me that I have 1 unread message in my inbox when I read it 6 times already. To the left of the Sender's Name is an empty box; check that box, scroll down to the bottom of the list of messages and click the "Mark as Read" button. That resets the counter to "0 Messages Unread". I found this out yesterday. TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

Just testing the new buttons. You're right. There is more to buttons than pints. Here's my camera with buttons for those little extras that I need when I'm out snapping the scenery... And I can tell you, they all work! ;) flaming balloons |

I think I fixed the Opera problem. Cheers David A. The space below the header and the first seen post is back to normal in Opera now. The buttons themselves look and function as expected. (The style, shape and look of buttons are governed by the users chosen Opera theme.) So everything in Opera 9+ is working fine and dandy :o) Thanks for your work David. |

SNIP Your avatars always look 'sharp' and classy my friend :o)) Seriously though. I compared your avatar in Opera and IE side by side and they looked the same. I think what might be making your avatar look a little 'soft' is the lack of black lines around the lions, the grey and the tiny detail in the armour. I wonder whether reducing the colour count would give it a little more punch and give sense of "effective sharpness."? (PS: "IrfanView" sometimes has a slightly better algorithm for reducing colours, image size and sharpening than Paint Shop Pro.... Might be worth running the original back through that and comparing!) |

I think I fixed the Opera problem. Buttons don't work in IE with Javascript off. I'm not sure an <a> around a button is even legal; so no wonder it didn't work on some browsers. Makes Firefox show two little dots at the sides too: it's the link underlining. Using buttons for actions is The Right Thing, but they should use POST too, so both the onclick and the <a> should go away. Use a proper <form>. A GET must not have "side effects" (of course logging, counting visits, etc. don't count as side effects). Also, the PM button below the avatar is too big and ugly. Looks out of place... It keeps telling me that I have 1 unread message in my inbox when I read it 6 times already. @ ES99, Agreed, I too had to scroll down a long way before I stumbled onto those buttons on the bottom. Perhaps David could have those buttons both at the top and bottom of the page for ease of access...??? TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I think I fixed the Opera problem. @ David A. Is it possible to have the "Mark as Read" and "Mark as Unread" buttons both at the top and bottom of the Inbox Page for ease of access? Thanks in advance. TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

SNIP... I wonder if a line space between the base of the avatar and the button would improve it's look? However I suspect the width of these 'form' style buttons are goverened by the length of the text "Send message" and not really controllable by the web page designer. This is how 'form' buttons look for me in Opera (using my chosen theme): EDIT: After reviewing this post back in IE I do notice the PM button is cut off by the left hand column (fixed?) width: |
