The windows help forum wasn't much help I know this wasn't happening to me on the previous version and I'm not even sure if it started just after updating to 4.05 or after that at some point. http://users.dls.net/~mbrennecke/images/boinc_error.jpg It only happens after a reboot then BOINC seems to carry on without issues. 2.4 P4, XP (not SP2) machine Suggestions? Reinstall? Wait for new version? I don't restart it that often so it's not a real big deal but you know how it is... just hate errors!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everyday with BOINC brings new surprises :) Total: 28786.83 RAC: 641.98 Pending: Eleventy Gazillion ~Michael "They better be out there, I think we need their help" |

Should I take that to mean no one else has seen this error? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everyday with BOINC brings new surprises :) Total: 28786.83 RAC: 641.98 Pending: Eleventy Gazillion ~Michael "They better be out there, I think we need their help" |

-do not ask a forum for help, forum wasn't much help (you say) -do not reboot -do not restart -do wait for new releases -do be a man and use pre released version and be happy with it (at your own risk, until public go) -do not change too much your system, jpg looks like from a kde or MAC, but not from XP -do love errors (in your profile:Technical Support, if you ARE in this, you must love errors) -do checkdisk and defrag bevor installing -do make a backup (Copy boinc folder into an other folder) of boincfolder, do re-install Boincclient, do reattach to project, do rewait for work -do use as mentioned above XP based recovery functions (you payed for) -do be wished luck >it's not a real big deal -do not deal -do be happy. -do sleep well |

Does BOINC have folder permissions to create files in that folder? ----- Rom BOINC Development Team, U.C. Berkeley |

I had a similar error pop up every time i logged in to my PC as a user other than my own admin one. Eventually solved the problem by shifting the BOINC folder from the C: program files folder to the Shared documents folder in the documents and settings folder. Figure this will help u if the problem resurfaces. |

I have NO logins. It just boots right into Windoze. I had this error on XP, XP SP2 (just installed) as well as Boinc v3 and Boinc v4 just installed. So I just don't know WHAT to do. It's frustrating. -- E -- darsys at aol dot com if you want to drop me a note. |
