Personal background
I'm from South Florida (USA) and am in my early 40s. I've got lots of hobbies but those of note include Ice Hockey, Reading, Writing, and diddling around on my computer. As I always tell people, check my website or blog for more information. My blog is at http://quagmire.darsys.net/ and my website is at http://www.darsys.com
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think ET exists, though maybe not in the form we expect it. Will humankind discover ET? Probably. But not in our lifetimes. I think it will be the most amazing thing, though organized religion will probably be greatly displeased by it. I think sending a beacon out may not be the best idea. The assumption that all alien life forms we may attract would be friendly is a tragically optimistic theory. For my views on SETI and reasons I run it at home, please go to my web page http://www.darsys.com/seti.html and read there. As always, new members to our group are welcome.
