The game High /Low is played with two nuclear warheads. Both players toss a nuclear warhead into the air and the one whose bomb explodes higher in the air wins. This game is usually played by people of low intelligence, hence the name High/Low. |

dont know this and i think we dont need this here Seti, SETI@home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) also there is a BOINC IRC Side up, and a Channell http://logs.boinc-irc.com/ Greetings from Germany NRW Ulli S@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club m7 © |

That's Impressive Man! SETI, the first ever DC project started in 1999 - that's errm, 5 years ago. You sure have been wasting your dads' money if you were running a DC project for two years before that - some kind of virus I guess - sorry. Moral to the story, errm, stop posting crap - either enjoy DC projects warts and all or dont. > BOINC IRC is gona cost me money know money 2 spend sorry 30 days have run out > sorri > i know what seti is man i hav bein doing it for the last 7 yr on my dads comp > thanx for the advice!! > > > |

Our server system consists of three Sun workstations: * WS1: runs the web server (Apache) for our site. CGI programs (e.g., for users to look up their totals) run here. * WS2: runs the Informix database server. * WS3: runs the SETI@home server; this is the program that clients connect to. Our DLT (digital linear tape) drive is attached to WS3, and it also runs the "Splitter", a program that processes our data tapes from Arecibo, dividing the data stream in time and frequency, into "work units", each 107 seconds by 10 KHz. Another program, the "garbage collector", deletes work unit for which a result has arrived. The Splitter, which is CPU-intensive, can generate work units only at about 35% of the rate at which data arrives. Once we get more tape drives and more CPUs, we'll be able to keep up with the flow of data. Until then, we'll accumulate a backlog of tapes. An important component of SETI@home, Phase 2 Processing, is under development. This phase involves sifting through our database of Spike and Gaussian records, searching for events that are identical in space and frequency by different in time (typically by several months). original link http://www.setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/tech_news99.html so i think Seti is over 5 years old, but the 2 yrears you can explain i think, so we goto 7 years, missing the last two years, so ET have stolen this ... edit: Good old Days :) Greetings from Germany NRW Ulli S@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club m7 © |
