I'll take a number as well for Kenzie. So happy, then reserved, then gone.

This is getting ridiculous. What on earth could kenzie have done to cause her to get banned?

Live long and BOINC kenzie, you're moe than welcome at the "other" projects.....

I'm sad to hear that our Kenzieb has been banned for 2 weeks. I'm even sadder to understand that apparently she will not be coming back.

She was like a breath of fresh air around here, and her posts were always worth reading, and her pictures worth looking at. I will not comment specifically on the reason for the ban, other than to say that when a nice girl like her gets driven to the end of her tether, then there is something very wrong somewhere.

I for one will miss her :-(

and her crime was?

Seems like the only value we have these days is to dump the people who make us better.

Forget being racist, sexist, vile or aggressive... just being human sometimes seems to be enough to get the attention of the people haters.

Mac, what ever they do to you don't disappear. My world is better when you are in it.

Mac we're celebrating you here in my little part of this world so don't forget for a second that you are well loved.

Can Mac still recieve PMs?

Just what the hell is going on at this site?

I thought the aim was to encourage new members to join in?

I was looking forward to having a (good-natured) head-to-head with KenzieB.

I take a couple of days away to attend a sad event & to support my wife who took it very bad & on my return see this thread.

Back in 1999, I spotted SETI on the net & as I have always been that way inclined after growing up through the Space Race, joined.

These projects have enabled a lot of people throughout the world to help science & the forum enables these very same people to communicate with each other. I believe that is the intention of the forum or am I wrong?

It seems to me that the people who run this site have become a mini-government in their own right.

what's that quote about "Absolute Power"? If these very same people dislike this post & wish to ban me, feel free to do so - you won't be hurting me just the science that this site was setup for in the first place.

Hey KenzieB, if you get told about this post, hold you head high & return with serenity.

How about all posters putting the following at the end of every post - - - - -

BRING KenzieB BACK!!!!!!!!!!

BRING KenzieB BACK!!!!!!!!!!

One of the bigest problems is that when someone gets banned or a post or thread is deleted we can not see what the person said last.

Maybe a person was banned for good reason but if their post was deleted or hidden the only thing left to the rest of us is utter distaste for the behaiviour that takes away friends and fellow posters.

All we can do (as we seem to be worth very little and have no real power here) is to remember.

I'd still like to know what the hell she did?

KenzieB / Mac may be banned but she is an integral part of my world.

What made us so fearful of good people that we started to ban or hide them away?

Simple! It has gone on for centuries. They can be knocked down, tortured, even killed, but they can never, ever be put down. They always return to haunt the inhumane & that is their greatest fear & also the reason why they continue to knock the good ones.

It'll never change & what the good ones have to do is to not let the B******'s get them down!!!!

BRING BACK KenzieB!!!!!!

cRunchy, I will probably catch flak for this, but ... . There are one or two posts that clearly were over the line. Obviously, we cannot share those with you on the forum. For one, re-posting certain words would almost guarantee the "re-poster" getting banned as well.
However, what should be considered is what led up to it. My guess is that there were factors in her life followed by some typical issues on this forum which combined explosively.

As I said - we (me) have no way of knowing.

You won't get any flac from me.

Sometimes we overstep the boundaries. It's a natural state of life.

But I am still suprised when someone is banned for 2 weeks when a day or two would be better.

Most of us get 'arsey' (difficult) from time to time but, on average, the next day brings fresh air and turns our mood.

You don't have to repeat what Mac said, as parody will suffice, but I'm still interested in what she could have done to be grounded for 2 weeks like a child :(

I did see what was posted. Someone else got a screenshot.
As for length of bans? Well, I know some have done MUCH worse than me and then had a ban lifted after 2 or 3 days while I served the full time.

Several saw what she posted, and, as Sarge said, it was, by implication, kid unfriendly.

But, I know she has bee unhappy with S@H for nearly 2 months and was considering going to other projects. Perhaps this was her way out.

We will find out eventually though!

I am sorry she was banned. Her post was not that much over the line.

nota bene This thread will probably be hidden as it is dicsussing moderator action, and certainly this post is.
