Non-touching dirty dancing is an oxymoron, its just dancing. Try coming to some British school balls, then you'll see what dirty dancing really is. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

School penalizes students for hugs, high-fives I have worked in schools that have 'no physical contact' rules between pupils. I think if you spent time in schools you would understand why they have felt the need to do this. Especially for teenagers, who will argue every little thing. If you have a blanket no touching rule then you can't get the endless arguments of "we were just hugging"/"he or she is exaggerating how much that hurt"/"it was a play fight miss"/"I only put the knife in a little way" type of chat back you get shortly after some kid has been injured. I totally understand it. It is not fair..but trust me..teenagers neither understand or respect fair and most of the time they don't deserve it. Parents totally fail to understand what their sweet children become the minute they are out of their loving gaze. Reality Internet Personality |

is this true? all this banning about hugging in disney world and in Gestapo? it just seems so wacked i cant beieve it!!!! lol. That's happened at my school. I do try to avoid making serious eye contact while at bars or pubs. Those are places where you gotta be careful. |

I thought dirty dancing was called "dirty" because it involved physical contact that was sexually suggestive. By non-touching I was thinking of it being done without the touching, but with the suggestiveness. Are you saying that the dancing in British school balls gets really racy? lol, well, from my experience in American schools, I'd describe the dancing as more subdued. |

School penalizes students for hugs, high-fives You make a logical case. It just seems so excessive to me. I can understand the necessity to protect students/pupils. But, even with rules like this one, students can still be mistreated or harassed by other students. Words can sometimes hurt much more than a touch. I would much more prefer that schools try to understand the almost separate society that students live in. In that society bruises will last for days, but words can last forever. |

School penalizes students for hugs, high-fives This is very true, as I have seen it over and over again, and sometimes even by teachers as well. It all shows how fragile we all are as human beings. |

Words can sometimes hurt much more than a touch. When they implement the 'no talking' rule, can we extend that to include the 'work force' as well... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

"I only put the knife in a little way" *Cracks up laughing!* Oh Es, you do have such a way with words. Though I wonder if you're actually joking! What happens if they hug the teacher? Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Rush's last post seems ... mysterious and uncharacteristic. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

I have a black belt in the meter stick. You might want to keep that thing handy... And carry a spare, or two... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |
