Usually when a message is sent on a forum you get a confirmation message telling you that it was successfully sent. That would be good.

Oh come on! You know that is just superfluous redundant fluff! If there was an error, display an error. Otherwise, any educated person should know that it worked... ;-)

It does display an error message if you fluff it {she speaks from much tech-error experience} :))

It's broken. I tried sending a test message to someguyincanada and it didn't work.

Did you use his ID#? Its 276422 (I think)

I tried responding to kenzieB but all I got back is binary!
I think we'll just have to talk on Skype instead. ;)

I've been emailing the BOINC_Dev email list about this PM stuff. If a user is on your ignore list, that person cannot set you PM's. I believe they are working on code also atm to also include people who are banned. And if someone harasses you via the PM function, your on your own as far as that goes, there is nothing the staff or anyone can do in regards to that.

As Rytis stated, there is a self-moderation tool on this forum, the ignore funtion, and it works also with the pm's. And as I read his reply, it goes both ways, you can't neither send nor receive any pm's from people on your ignore list.

Is there a way to turn off/remove the PM facility?

Not at the moment, I think.

But I suppose you can "turn it off" by ignoring eventual pm's?
