Smokers that is! Stand up and be counted. (if you can without having a coughing fit)

I smoke and pay ridiculously high taxes to do so. I have no guilt. If you smoke then say so and stop hiding in the dark alleys!

Do Cigars count? If so I have one about once a month or so. When we play cards we always take a smoke/bathroom break about half way thru.

All inhaled smoldering plant matter counts.

Whoa! hold yer horses me hearty. One might inhale fags, one DOESN'T inhale cigars, one puffs at them....

AND.....

Cigars are rolled upon the thigh of a dusky maiden, all the more reason to enjoy....

Hey I can go along with that!

standing up to get counted: I smoke between 15 and 20 ciggies daily and pay my taxes for them.

Did you know that (okay, in Germany - but it won't be otherwise in US or Canada or anywhere else) the production of one cigarette including wages costs about half a cent (it has been less than one pfennig when it was DM-times)? A 17piece pack of cigarettes are mostly sold here for €3,40 (including 19% vat), giving the retailer just 10 cent as a promotion
Given the fact that the production costs are half a cent, it makes 8 cent to produce this pack, and €3,32 for taxes and a minor win. That's a conspiracy!

I smoke cigarettes and I enjoy it!

I am what is called a party smoker, meaning that I can easily go several days or weeks without smoking, e.g. I don't bother to go the 24/7 gas station to buy them when I run out.

But when I'm with somebody who smoke, I smoke too, so I usually buy a packet of cigarettes depending of what I'll be doing and whom I'll be with.

E.g. when I visit my brother or we go out for lunch together, or I go to his summer house, I buy a 10 piece package, and if I'm going to a party in the evening, usually starting with a good dinner, I buy a 20 piece package. And when I know I'll be out the whole night to a party, I buy 2 packets with 20 in each, as I know they'll be smoked before morning...

And sometimes when I plan a nice dinner here at home, or at certain occasions I buy a package and then I smoke until the packet is empty. I can easily smoke 10 - 15 cigarettes during the night, specially if I'm working on my computer!

But again, I don't smoke at work, first, I'll have to go outside and second, I don't bother, as I can easily wait till I get home.

In periods where I smoke a lot, I smoke about 70 - 80 cigarettes per week. And then I usually take a break not smoking for days...

I have smoked one pack ( 20 cigs ) a day for 25 years. I started when I was 13, quit for a year or so when I was around 18, then stopped caring about myself and started again.

I have tried to quit a couple of times, but I have pretty much given up....

I now roll my own. It works out to about a dollar a pack.

Still trying to cut down. Even the one after posting one...

Then of course there is THE one...

Funny, that is not the one for me. In fact I don't need that one.

I do enjoy that I can have days without smoking. I haven't smoked since the night between Thursday and Friday. And I won't be smoking before Tuesday - Wednesday at the earliest, maybe even first next weekend.

I envy people like you Fuzzy. My father (when he was smoking) was the same way. And when he decided to quit it was "Cold Turkey" with no problems! It has such a hold on me. Pack a day since 14 years old.

It's been almost a year now since I smoked a cig. I got the laser therapy/ hypnosis and it seems to have done the trick. Though I admit like Mikey I spark up a nice Cuban (Cohiba Esplendito or a Nice Monte Carlo #4) for poker night ever month or so.

I actually quit back in 1991, where I in January, after having spent too much money for the Christmas, had very little money left. So it was a question about buying food or cigarettes, and I chose to buy food. And I started to jog at that time, so when I a month later should attend a course and bought a packet of cigarettes for that, I could feel it the first time I was out jogging after having smoked that whole package. And I thought that the jogging results were too "expensive" to me to waste with smoking.

So I was non-smoker until January 13'th 1996, the last day my father lived. The worst part of quitting were the social gatherings where I used to smoke, so I bought a plastic cigarette, I stopped out with cotton so it had the very same draught as my favorite brand in ciggies, and I inhaled and all with it. That helped me through a longer time and then I quited that one also.

The worst part about being a non-smoker is all the breaks you don't get when you don't want to go out to get a smoke. In my work I saw all the smokers take many longer breaks where I didn't have any excuse to take one. Which they often took advantage of!

My friend is a mormon and when I visit her, I don't smoke out of courtesy, and I use the plastic ciggie a lot when I'm with her.

Nice to see ya Sixpack! I'd like to hear more about the laser therapy if you don't mind. I've heard of it but never knew anyone who tried.

And Misfit's right it stinks in here! I could open the window or we could go sit outside in the yard.

No, not outside in the yard, that's what they do to us all the time, make us go outside. No this thread is for the smokers here and we can smoke in here, they can go outside if they can't handle the smoke.
