Post Your Computer Specs in here, also your latest build Just for SETI: Athlon AMD 64x2 5000+, 2.63MHz ASUS MSN32-SLI DELUXE MB using NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP chipset 2x1GB DDR2 533MHz RAM 300GB SATA II 3GB/s HDD NVIDIA GeFORCE 7900GT 512MB GRAPHICS MS WIN XP HOME SP2 Would like to overclock, but unsure how to do it-any advice appreciated! Intending to upgrade next week to Win XP PRO 64bit, as I've been told this will vastly improve crunching-any comments? (looked at VISTA, didn't think it has much to offer in improvements as regards this project, + cost of upgrade) Also intending to upgrade RAM to 4x2GB 800MHz (max my MB will support),& already have 2 x Western Dig.Caviar 500GB HDD's ready to install. Any comments/advice gratefully received-this machine is used 99% seti. Cheers! Mike, from the windswept wilds of Bristol, UK! |

Wouldn't it be easier to simply click on a person's name to see the systems they are crunching with? |

Wouldn't it be easier to simply click on a person's name to see the systems they are crunching with? This way we can see what motherboard and ram choices they have made, which isn't visible in the profile. I think that makes a difference in performance. My Seti crunchers are: Pentium D960 Asus p5ld2-vm Corsair Value Select ddr2 667 in a RaidMax pink case and the 420W psu that came with it Windows XP Pro 64 bit evaluation edition Core 2 Duo E6700 Asus P5B Corsair XMS2 Cas 5 ram Evga 6600le video in ultra dragon case with Enermax Whisper 465 W psu Windows XP Home Core 2 Duo E6700 Intel 975xbx2 Crucial Ballistix Cas 4 ram Evga 7300GS Enermax 485 W psu no case yet Ubuntu Feisty Fawn alpha 2.6.20 kernel |

Wouldn't it be easier to simply click on a person's name to see the systems they are crunching with? Yeah It would be nice, But the guys at Berkeley have other priorities right now, Me I've found with the ram I have that I get the best performance and stability out of My QX6700 cpus with a 2:3 ratio as My ram is as stated earlier not the best or fastest, But I can get 417.5MHz(BatPC1) and 419.7MHz(BatPC4) and that is pretty good to Me. Besides a thread is ok to Me. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Hey all, This is my first post. I hope that you all feel blessed :P My system specs are as follows. CPU – Amd 3400+, (ClawHammer -512 S754) Motherboard – Abit NF8 (socket 754, Nforce3 250 Chipset) Memory - 1024mb – 512mb Twinmos pc3200 and 512mb corsair value pc3200 memory. GPU – XFX Geforce 6800xt, 128mb AGP. HDD 1 x 320gb Sata with 16mb cash and 1 x 200GB pata with 8mb cash. Audio – SB Audigy SB0090 Other – case with big frigging fan on the side and a dual rail 600w psu which name I have forgotten My current system (main system). I bought the majority of this system when the Athlon 64 3400, socket 754 was a couple months old. Theres been few changes, i had to replace a stick of 512mb pc3200 memory but was only able to get a corsair value memory instead of the stick of Twinmos memory. Another change to the system was my 6800GX 128mb agp card died due to my own error, it was a good card unlocked its piped and had a nice over clock, this card was replaced with a 6800xt, a nice overclocked running at 360 core, 765 memory and unlocked some pipes so its currently running with 12pp and 6vp not as good as the previous card but it does as a cheap replacement and does 4044 in 3DMark 2005. 3DMark Score I'm hoping to keep this system till August / September when I'll be doing a full upgrade, and get what's best on the market at that time. Hopefully that will do me for 2 – 3 years. At present my main system is creaking a bit when using it for gaming but it does its job. Spare system in the loft. I've got a compact Presario i think its a 6030, its in the loft at the moment but in a few days I shall have it back up and running and doing Seti 24/7. Ive had some problems with my system's since December but will get them up and running soon, just been to busy or lazy :P. As I remember the Presario has: CPU – Athlon xp 2100. Motherboard – Compacts own brand of motherboard that has a cripple Bios. Memory – 256mb of pc2100, looking to get a stick of 512mb for it soon. GPU – Geforce 4 440mx 64mb Agp HDD – 80gb pata HDD Onboard audio. Other – replacing the Psu soon, as the original one is a bit dodgy. Ive got an old laptop that I take with me when im on night shift. I use the laptop for typing up documents and playing old Scumm games through the SCUMM VM ScummVM Im half way through The Dig at the moment, also use it to play Star Control 2 remake or as its known The Ur-Quan Masters. Star Control 2 The old laptop or as its know “Old Betty†is a Toshiba Satelite 440CDX CPU - Intel Pentium 133 Mhz Overclocked to 166 :-D Memory – 32mb :O HDD - 1.44GB GPU – 2mb something :S Audio – Yamaha OPL3-SA3. As you can see its a top of the range system that will whoop the rear end off any dual or quad core system :P. I was thinking of putting a cheap 2800 Sempron system up just for seti but I wont because of the cost of electricity in the UK. Bambi Hunters. Hunting Bambi's before they hunt us! |

I have two computers bought from CyberPower received last May. Both have PD950s but one (the "main") has more "stuff" on it than the other (the "subordinate"). The latter had to be completely rebuilt by CyberPower because of a leaking looler and was out-of-action most of July and August. Each crunches about 1200 credits per 24 hours on with Simons cruncher, version 2.0. I removed a certain Yamaha soundcard from the main one several months ago because Internet radio was skipping and the onboard sound of the Asus motherboards is better than the sound add-on per CyberPower tech support. Components main/subordinate: Processor Pentium D 950 / same Hard Drives 250GB/80GB Sata-2 3GB/S 8MB 7200RPM Sagitta case w/420W power supply / same 16x DVDRW+- / CD-RW (fm Best Buy) Sony floppy / - Cooler Master liquid cooler / same Motherboard Asus P5WD2-E / same Windows XP Pro SP2 /same Memory DDR2 667 2 x 512MB Corsair Value Select (Cas 5) /same Graphics GEForce 6600 (256MB) / 6200 (64MB) Microsoft Office Basic 2003 / - Common to both: Viewsonic 19" 1440 x 900 LCD monitor, Logitech keyboard, Msoft optical mouse, NetGear router, IoGear monitor switch, 1999 cable modem, 1999 3-pc speaker set. The monitor switch (or something having to do with this setup) prevents the monitor from operating at native resolution with one machine or using the subwoofer (this part was disconnected so I can use it). |

My recent machine builded for SETI crunching: Core2Duo E6400 with CoolerMaster Hyper48, O/C 3400MHz, temp. with SETI optimised clent from Chicken is 60C(i think can do better, but RAM can't go to 1000MHz) MB Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 (nice board, best for o/c in his class - around 130$) 2x1GB DDR800 PQI (well that's the weakest part, strangely enough I have a Corsair TWIN2X1024-6400C4, but Mobo isn't stable even in normal run) Video GeForce 6600 and 250GB Samsung SATA PSU Fortron 400W Now I'm looking for good DDR2-1000 RAM (I'm really dissapointed with Corsair, I have read so much good reviews for them) At the end, RAC around 1560 for now... |
