OK, it's partially fixed. Workunits that hadn't yet reached quorum will be granted credit through the normal validation process. The ones that hadn't already reached quorum, I'll manually grant credit in a few hours. Eric.....Just so I understand, is the automatic process a one-time fix, or has the code been changed to do this automatically from now on? And as for the manual process, must I search out the validate errors and post them here to get them fixed, or are you manually finding them all? Thank You very much for your extra efforts, Eric. I know you must have your hands full lately (more than usual) what with Kryten misbehaving so much recently. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Aaargh ... the validate errors are back! This WU http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=107946971 went from "validate error" to "pending" to "validate error" again when I submitted the final result. |

Also, I have several WU that are credit is pending for few days now. Is that normal? |

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=109131849 I just looked at the unit highlighted, this was a noisy unit, that should error out with a -9 overflow msg. Unfortunately some systems don't and you end up with a windows RAM or file violation error as yours did. The problem is being looked at on the Beta site. It would appear that the optimised apps available in the Optimised apps thread from Simon, AKA Chicken of Angnor, handle this problem better. Andy |

Still down for maint/fixing I believe, I'm running low on Pent M only 2 and a bit left in my cache. Plus Einstein is down, relying on SetiBeta to keep it busy. |

Those validate errors keep popping, huh? Those four appeared last night and are not the same I reported earlier. Wow! That was fast. Some were even validated already. Thanks again guys! |

While it has not been stated I think things have been put in place for the short term to prevent as much damage as possible. As You identify the problems and we can get a clear definition, things are being fixed... At times it does take away from other progress, and if we are patient and keep Seti Going then more things will happen... I know that a New Version of BOINC is about ready which can take care of some the problems on that side... A New Version of the Seti Application is in the works that will allow the MultiBeam Data to be crunched here. That new application has the potential that some of the errors that people experience will go away or at least have more data to identify and the problem. Many people are involved in making that all happen... Thank You All, for helping to make Eric's job easier... If you still receive validate errors here is where to post them... Pappa Please consider a Donation to the Seti Project. |

Here's another Validation Error: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=108987956 It's the only one I currenly see in my Results list. Here's a different problem, it looks like the Validator has lost track of these: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=107269119 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=109185916 Thanks Eric! |

Hi ! The result pages show "Exit status -1073741819 (0xc0000005)" which would be shown as an "access error" if the debugger were kicking in. I suggest you set "No new work" or whatever it's called in BOINC 5.4.9 and see if the last WU you have errors out the same way. If so, upload and report it then Reset the project. That will wipe out the current app and get a fresh copy. You might also consider upgrading to BOINC 5.4.11, maybe that would make the debugger available. Joe |
