AHHHHHH I`am going Mad on This !!!!! Since 24 Houres I see This F****** Message in The Boinc Client. SETI@home - 2004-09-01 22:45:54 - Master file fetch failed Seti will connect to the Project URL, (The URL you type in when you register to a new Project, whith your account ID) but the same message every Time I will connect to the Project. And what me drives cracy at most is, No one from the Seti ore the Berkeley Stuff is telling you what is going on. Pretty COOL??? What will the Sponsors Think about this BIG BIG Problems on SETI@BOINC?? ![]() |

Hmmm - drastic action required: Either uninstall BOINC, delete the c:|program files|BOINC folder, reboot, download a new BOINC (very important) and reinstall; or Submit yourself for a session of colonic irrigation. Just the threat sorts out most insanity! Giskard - the first telepathic robot. |

First, try resetting (do not detach), and if that doesn't solve the problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of BOINC. That's it for me--if those don't work, I've got no more tricks. |

DO you have a firewall blocking BOINC did you use the correct URL. ALSO I FOUND ANSWERS BY DOING A VERY SIMPLE SEARCH OF THE FILES, YOU SHOULD TRY IT SOME TIME IT IS LIBERATING.... Have a nice day. M7 Seti@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club © |

There is nothing Blockd by a Firewall ore Thomething else. CPDN is Running whitout anny Problems, and Seti Since yesturday was Running well too. I have figured out what this message means, the Master file is a File in the BOINC main Dir. And is calld account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml in there on the first part there is a Link Called Master URL. And under This link is your Account ID stored. So the Client is doing everi Thing right. But what is whith the Rest after My ISP??? But I Trusth in GOD ![]() |

I was unattached to the project for a while and crunching Predictor while I was waiting for things here to settle down. When I went to re-attach to Seti I had the same problem, useing the URL from the e-mail didn't work. I tried numerous times without success and went hunting through the message boards in case they had changed it. Eventually I found a thread which contained a different URL and tried it. It worked, and the strange thing is all it seemed to do was re-direct my client to another URL - one very similar to the one in the e-mail message from Berkeley. Anyways here are the thread the messages are in, and the address I had success with, as well as the address my client is now communicating with. Hope it helps. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=3409 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi Bill |

My box is a P4 1.5 Ghz ,Win 2k Prof, 768 MB/Ram ,80 Gig HDD, 1152 MB Swapfile, Boinc version is 4.05. My Firewall isn´t Blocking any think from Boinc. The URL I use is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ , this is letter by letter my Project URL I have got by E-Mail after the registration to Boinc. ![]() |

Your URL seems OK - I can connect to it with my browser. If you can't then maybe your machine has cached an incorrect IP address for the URL, or your ISP may have a problem with DNS. The DNS caches should expire in about 24 hours. If you're crunching happily, maybe just wait until this time tomorrow and see what happens then. Giskard - the first telepathic robot. |

I would like to add, make sure that you have no extra spaces before or after the address or password if you paste them in. |
