I'm running a 6800GT on my home machine. I'll upgrade the drivers tomorrow and see if that causes the same problem on my machine.

Eric

Hi Guys. I am unable to access the graphics function as well. I also have nVidia card same as Ben. I am running the most recent DirectX. I am not able to run Google Earth in OpenGL, only DirectX. I am not able to use the work around that is offered, either. BOINC does not show in the services list. Have you received any fixes. I really miss the cool gaphics that came with Seti.

Hi guys, my first post here and my only problem with Seti/Boinc. Basically I want to see the graphics window, it works fine on my laptop but on my main pc it comes up but does nothing and remains black. I have the latest nVidia drivers and was wondering if they could be the problem but I'm not sure. Anyone else have this issue or know a cure?

HI Ben Clark, First of all, let me apologize for entering this thread with my question, but I noticed that you are running and AMD 3700+ cpu as I am. I would like to know what cpu temp you are registering when running Seti. Please reply to my post "cpu heating question" chromespringer Thank You

Hi Ben Clark. This is the first time I have tried this so I hope I am doing the right thing. With respect to your graphics not working. I discovered a similar problem and I found a way around it, unfortunately the answer is worse than the problem. go into control panel, thence display/settings/advanced/troubleshoot/ then retard your hardware acceleration back to none. This should allow the graphics to work on your seti, however it causes problems with other applications. As I said the answer is as bad as the problem but after a lot of mucking around it was as far as I could take the problem

Hi again aaeron,

Tried it on my home machine. I downloaded the current driver (91.47) and installed it. Graphics work the same as they did before.

Have you changed any of your 3D settings in the nVidia control panel? I tried a lot of combinations but wasn't able to get any of them to fail.

Eric

What if you set the hardware acceleration to slightly lower than Max?

That worked, I set it 1 stop below and it worked so returned it to normal and although the PC crashed and I lost a few things (my desktop image and a couple of other minor things reverted to previous settings) it now works. Dunno why that fixed it but it did so thanks guys!
