Hi Clyde, Thanks, Eric. The code said that that bad result was received at 0:56 Greenwich Mean Time June 5, or 8:56 PM June 4 my (EDT) time. At that time I was in bed, the monitor was off and both computers were (trying to) display the tilting Seti graph tray since the mouse hadn't been touched for well over an hour, minimum. The monitor, keyboard and mouse are connected to the two boxes via an Iogear switch; and the two boxes are connected to the cable modem with a Netgear radio frequency router. I don't know how much time had elapsed between the encounter of the error and the receipt of the bad result at Berkeley. Between 4:00 and 5:00 PM that day I had been listening to an Internet radio station "Party Fifties Canada" which shows graphics that sometimes move but, I don't think, are 3D. The computer in question has had a problem not keeping the resolution I had set for the common monitor; the other computer leaves my setting alone at the native 1440x900 for the 19" LCD. |

Is there anything I can do about these errors? 6/7/2006 5:37:11 AM|SETI@home|Unrecoverable error for result 23mr99aa.29133.20160.878390.3.0_5 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) 6/7/2006 11:30:59 AM|SETI@home|Unrecoverable error for result 21fe99ab.27562.11713.872154.3.161_0 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) ![]() |

And here are some more from another machine Paul, the -6 is a bad header (no header) that is susposed to be fixed now. the 1073807364 is familiar. Are you seeing this during the screensaver running, and a "windows" fatal error box pops up, asking if you want to report it to Microsoft? tony |

Hi Clyde, Hi Clyde, the error looks to be a .NET error. Is your nVidia videocard using drivers that now incorporate .NET ?? I know Ati has had .NET incorporated in their Catalyst Control Center since some time and thus in their drivers. But has nVidia done this now as well? |

And here are some more from another machine I've linked your posts in a email to Rom. He might use it to help track down this bug. tony |

And here are some more from another machine Hi Paul, I could fetch the latter one (exactly speaking, a sibling of the latter one) and confirmed it's one of the "no header" wu's. It was created the "bad" timezone. If you check the workunit page, you'll find it's been "cancelled", I think (because Eric cancelled those no header wu's). I don't know the former one. I cannot fetch it, maybe because it's too old. EDIT: A quick glance showed there were still some no header wu's on the server. For example see this wu directory. In general wu's created between 04-Jun-2006 7:00-18:00 (PDT) are affected. Anyway these wu's are harmless, because they are skipped as soon as it begins to be crunched. They will be gone in a few days. Luckiest in the world. WMD = Weapon of Mass Distraction. Click this table. ![]() |

Thanks, Ageless. I wouldn't have the slightest. I could try to look at the driver and see if that filename ends in a ".NET". The (subordinate) box that was retaining the desired resolution of 1440 x 900 was using a 2001 driver and the (main one that has most programs on it) box had been using a 2005 driver which I rolled back to the 2001, but that didn't help. I think the resolution resets upon shutting off the machine. The (suspect) card in the main box is a GEForce 6600 with 256MB RAM; the other (that works OK) is a GEForce 6200 with 64 MB of RAM in 256MB-capacity RAM slots, apparently. Some of my other computer-specific errant units had different errors but for the time being they've disappeared. |

And here are some more from another machine Thanks for all the help, both you and Tony. I wasn't too worried about the errors but it's nice to know that it wasn't my machine that caused them. ![]() |

Brand new error exit code 1073741819 at 0118 Greenwich June 9, and that was on my other (subordinate) computer. I was fooling with speaker connections to get good fifties music but five hours earlier. Most other errors involved fractional-second units and shared by most. |

I'm showing a lot of errors can anyone advise? You got a batch of WUs created 4 June with no header. Bad luck, most of those have previously reached the "too many errors" state and fallen out of the system. Joe |
