SETI@Home Chief Scientist Dan Werthimer will be giving a free, public talk about SETI and SETI@Home today on the UC Berkeley campus at 1pm. You're invited to join him in Room 120 Latimer Hall on campus. Also, the SETI Lab will be open for visiting and short tours between 11:00am and 3:00pm. That's in Room 325 at the Space Sciences Laboratory behind the University.

Did anybody who frequents these boards attend this meeting?

If so I would be very interested to know how it went.

Thanks.

Sometimes I think we are alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we are not. In either case the idea is quite staggering.

I see your 1500kWh/month and raise you 2500kWh/month.

Hi all,

I got an email from Dan Werthimer:

hi kinhull,

there are a couple of my talks on line:

http://www-ppd.fnal.gov/EPPOffice-w/colloq/past_colloq_02_03.html

http://www.ssl.berkeley.edu/seminars/ssl-colloquia.html

you are welcome to post these links on the message boards if you want.

best wishes,

dan

On the first link there is an Abstract and a Video (23 April 2003)
On the second link there is an Abstract and a PowerPoint Presentation (27 January 2006)

I presume there isn't going to be anything official available for the Public Meeting on April 22 2006, but perhaps for future events now that Dan and others are aware of interest amongst the community.

As mentioned in the original post:
